1) Irish Soda Bread Bake-off Sponsored by the Knights of Columbus will be held at 1:00 pm at the Rectory Meeting Room at St. Patrick’s 4th Avenue and 95th Street. All are welcome!

1) St. Patrick’s Church on 4th Avenue and 95th Street celebrates St. Patrick. Doors open at 5:30 pm. Call 718-238-2600 to reserve a spot. $35 per person – Irish buffet and music from the Rhapsody Players.


Sunday, March 16, 2025
The St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Park Slope starts at 1:30 pm on Starting at 15th Street & Prospect Park West. There is a mass at Holy Name at 10:30 am. After party dinner (info here)


2) Irish Haven at 5721 – 4th Avenue in Sunset Park is having a Guinness Split the G Contest at 6:00 pm. Prize: $50 tab.

1) The Bay Ridge St. Patrick’s Day Parade on 3rd Avenue will start at 1:00 pm on Marine and 3rd Avenue.

The parade continues to 3rd Avenue and 67th Street. The grandstand is in front of Greenhouse Cafe. (Line up for the parade begins at 12:30 pm)

After the Parade Party at St. Ephrem’s at 924 – 74th Street from 3:00 – 7:00 pm.

Around 11:30 pm, there was an electrical fire underground on 74th Street between Ridge Blvd. and 3rd Avenue.
Citizen app showed: “Firefighters have identified a significant arcing condition in two nearby maintenance hole.”

January 30, 2025RIP Jonathan Campos, Pilot In American Airlines Crash Had Roots in Brooklyn

There was a horrible accident near Reagan National Airport in Washington, DC last night.

A military Black Hawk helicopter collided into an American Airlines plane. The helicopter should not have been flying at that height. There were no survivors – sixty-seven people died. (News)

The plane captain, Jonathan Campos was killed. He graduated from I.S. 303 and then John Dewey High School on Stillwell Avenue (across from Coney Island Creek) in 2008. His teacher, Lane Rose shared the photo above to honor Jonathan’s memory.

The United States figure skating team was on the plane. May they rest in peace.
