Richie Barsamian Talks About Public Safety
I’m was glad to see Richie Barsamian speak about public safety. Across our district, this is a huge concern for people.

Richie said he will be the loudest and strongest voice demanding more police officers for NYC. Barsamian is blessed with an incredible voice that everyone is going to hear!

Grocery Story on 92nd St. and 5th Ave. Robbed
There was an armed robbery at gunpoint on 92nd Street and 5th Avenue tonight at 8:18 pm.
One thief wearing all black held up the place and took $500 from the register.

Richie Barsamian and Others Spoke Out Against the Citibike Expansion Plans For Bay Ridge
Richie Barsamian, whose running for Bay Ridge’s NYC Council seat was on 3rd Avenue speaking out against the expansion of Citibike in Bay Ridge.
Barsamian said this expansion will create an unnecessary burden on the community.
Bikes are not terrible, but this rollout is wrong for Bay Ridge. If Justin Brannan was leading in Bay Ridge rather than running an election, this plan would have been changed before it was heard by Community Board 10.
On Tuesday, June 10th, Community Board10 is having a meeting about the Citibike expansion.

Dear GayRidge – Happy Pride 2025! (Plus Map)
On Sunday, June 8th, GayRidge will hold their fourth annual Pride Celebration at Owl’s Head Park on 68th Street and Shore Road from 12:00 – 5:00 pm.
Congratulations to the organizers of this event! Work is being done at Owl’s Head Park, but they still made it work for the event. Here’s the map on how to get in:
Our area has seen hate towards people in the LGBTQ in the last few years with the burning/removal of pride flags and the destruction of the memorial Pride bench repeatedly on Shore Road. These acts of hate send the wrong message to children and teens.
We hope Pride 2025 is fantastic and we appreciate your advocacy in Bay Ridge!
We Also Appreciate These Bay Ridge Businesses for Acknowledging Pride Month:
1) Caffe Cafe at 8401 – 3rd Avenue is celebrating Pride Month with an updated logo:
Caffe Cafe has a special espresso for Pride Month!
2) Classic Impressions at 9008 3rd Avenue also shared Pride and their new storefront has Pride and Father’s Day items.
3) Regina di Dolce Bakery is giving out free rainbow cookie donuts.

Robbery at a Nail Salon in Bay Ridge
Last weekend a customer was robbed by a thief who ran into Magnolia Nails at 8312 – 3rd Avenue (this used to be Le Charme Nail Spa).
While the salon has a buzzer for the door, the door was propped open because of the warm weather.
A masked man entered the salon and walked to the back to use the restroom. When he was walking out, he grabbed a customer’s purse. The purse was found later without the money.
There has been an uptick in robberies of patrons at Bay Ridge businesses (not only salons, but a bar and laundromat as well). Keep your purse close or change to another type of storage for your money/ID.
There was a GoFundMe for the mother, but it was removed.
