June 6, 2025The Shomrim Help the NYPD Nab Three Jewelry Thieves in Brooklyn

On Sunday, May 27th, the Borough Park Shomrim saw people robbing a person using a “hug-and-snatch” tactic.
The perps used fake jewelry to steal real jewelry from people. The Shomrim contacted the NYPD and three people were arrested.

From the video, you can see the arrest took place outside of St. Bernadette’s Church on 13th Avenue and 82nd Street in Dyker Heights.
Are these the same people who were robbing senior citizens in Dyker Heights and Bay Ridge last Summer? This should have been a story that made it to our local papers, but it didn’t.
Thank you to the Shomrim for taking action and getting these thieves arrested!

On Saturday, June 7th there is a comedy show at 7:00 pm at a cafe in Bay Ridge. Don’t Tell Comedy shared the show. The location is secretive until after you pay for your ticket.
On their website, it says the location is indoors at a cafe that does not sell alcohol, but it’s listed as a BYOB. Info here:

June 6, 2025Senator Chan Was Hanging Nets at The Park
Everyone knows Senator Steve Chan is very present in the community.
Yesterday, he was hanging nets at the basketball court at Lieutenant Joseph Petrosino Park on 70th Street and 16th Avenue. The courts are ready for the community to enjoy! Amazing!
Senator Chan also shared a photo of the pages of notes he made about how he was voting for 70 bills in the Senate this week. Many must be terrible because Senator Chan wrote a Republican governor was needed to veto 90% of these bills!

The NY Transit Museum will have a “Parade of Trains” on Saturday, June 7th and Sunday June 8th from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.
