Justin Brannan Put The Names of Faith Leaders on His Flyer. But They Didn’t Endorse Him!

The NY Post found faith leaders that were annoyed that Justin Brannan put them on his flyer stating they endorsed him. See:

Justin Brannan is an experienced politician so this shouldn’t have happened. By now he should have apologized to the people whose names he is using to promote himself. Instead he was #Silent.

Brooklyn Developer is Seeking to Rezone 9201 – 4th Avenue in Bay Ridge

Update December 2025:

Efthimios Zisimopoulos, a Brooklyn developer wants to rezone 9201 – 4th Avenue to a 9-story residential and retail building. Story:

https://www.crainsnewyork.com/real-estate/developer-tim-ziss-allied-properties-seeking-rezoning-bay-ridge-brooklyn

This huge building is empty – while everyone knows Pizzeria Unos left years ago, I don’t think most people realize the building is completely empty. Ten years ago, there was a busy doctor’s office in this building. Source for the building being empty:

https://www.bizjournals.com/newyork/news/2025/05/20/bay-ridge-brooklyn-nyc-apartments-offices-9201-4th.html

Zisimopoulos, also know as Tim Ziss is the developer known for the flipping Nathan’s on 86th Street. (Ziss purchased it for $12.25 million on October 23, 2018 — and then resold the property for $25 million the school construction agency on July 1, 2019).

Bishop Kearney HS Building is Becoming The Middle School of Innovation

Bishop Kearney High School closed in 2019.

For years, people wondered what was coming to 2202 – 60th Street. Andrew Gounardes said he was going to have a specialized high school put there, but he didn’t do the work to make that happen.

The Middle School of Innovation K968 is opening in September there in District 21.

The building has new windows & doors last week on the school as they get ready for September.

The new principal looks excited:

Justin Brannan and the Lobbyists for the Casino in Coney Island (Three Articles!)

In 2024, Justin Brannan asked the people in Coney Island for their vote.

In 2025, Coney Island residents spent the last six months attending meetings to stop a casino in their community. If they had a better representative, this wouldn’t have happened!

THREE articles about Justin Brannan and the lobbyists at the Coney Island Casino have come out.

1) Today, the Brooklyn Eagle’s article had the quote above. See the article here:

https://brooklyneagle.com/articles/2025/06/14/the-coney-casino-at-council-hearing

Justin Brannan should not be voting on anything with the casino in Coney Island at this point.

2) In Crain’s article, Richard Briffault, the former chair of the NYC’s Conflicts of Interest Board wrote in an email that Brannan’s interaction with the developers at the hearing would not be improper, since city laws against coordination with super PACs require “an actual agreement” with the candidate about the contents of the PAC’s advertisements.”

Campaign Finance shows that New Yorkers for Accountability spent $30,000 on this digital ad for Justin Brannan”

3) City and State talked more about the lobbyists.

Read the article:

https://www.cityandstateny.com/politics/2025/05/new-pro-brannan-ie-has-ties-coney-island-casino-proposal-former-gop-candidate/405436

Brooklyn, vote against Justin Brannan for putting Brooklyn in this position! Mark Levine said no the casino in Manhattan.

See Coney Island speak out against Councilman Justin Brannan: https://x.com/AmusingZillion/status/1934455967913030025

Brooklynites should not have to fight the Councilman to stop the casino – the Councilman should have stood with the people.

In March 2023, I wrote that Justin Brannan would be the worst thing for Coney Island because he was lobbied by the casino. Coney Island is in a terrible position and there aren’t any good Democrats standing up against this.

Bill Colton’s Chief-of-Staff is in the NY Post.

Assemblyman Bill Colton’s chief-of-staff, Larry He was in the NY Post. Larry He was working for Andrew Cuomo’s mayoral campaign, but quit.

“The Post found Larry He, 48, did not disclose any of these business relationships on mandatory filings he made as chief-of-staff to Assemblyman William Colton (D-Brooklyn), a job he started in late 2023 while living in upstate New York. “

Larry He is still working for Assemblyman Bill Colton.

Story here:

https://nypost.com/2025/06/14/us-news/andrew-cuomo-campaign-aide-worked-for-companies-tied-to-ccp

The article didn’t say he resigned from Bill Colton’s office, so I asked the NY Post journalist, Will Bredderman and he said:

Larry He is a Democrat District Leader, which means he brings candidates in to run for office. Who brought Larry He to Colton’s office is the question Bill Colton will need to answer.
