What’s Coming to Ovington Avenue?

Photo: Tom Hilton

The Hall of Fame Billiards at 505 Ovington Avenue (off 5th Avenue) was supposed to become a supermarket.

On the Department of Buildings website, there is paperwork for a two-story commercial building with three meters.

The pool hall has been closed for over five years now. The people living around this area must be glad to see the new building.

Thank Justin Brannan for the EV Charging Station Coming to 86th Street – Next to the Library

Electric charging stations were installed in the lot next to New Utrecht Library at 1743 – 86 street in Bensonhurst. Update: Three are working.

You can see other charging stations coming to the area here:

https://www.plugshare.com

You can thank Councilman Justin Brannan for his 2024 legislation advocating for charging stations:

See Brannan’s bill here:

Justin Brannan drives a SUV – not an electric vehicle or a scooter. So now we just have to figure out who the lobbyist is.

Andrew Gounardes’ Donut Party in Albany

This September, some students in our area were not able to attend the afterschool program at their school because of NYS budget cuts. Senator Andrew Gounardes failed to tell the families or get the money restored.

Today, Andrew Gounardes shared that he brought 25 boxes of donuts to Albany (over 300 donuts). Why are we sending him to Albany to throw a donut party?

In the Fall, Gounardes went to Somos in Puerto Rico and spent $844.00 for meals at a restaurant. Money just keeps flowing, but there is none for afterschool.

Seven years ago, Gounardes said he was going to work on fair property taxes, but he failed to do anything about property taxes.

Why is there unlimited money for politicians?
