Marty Golden Not Good on Transportation
If a State Senator supports a strong transportation system, why wouldn’t he vote to fund it?
Marty Golden is a member of the MTA Capital Review Board. Marty knows his district values transportation. Why did Marty support this project for our station, rather than pushing for real upgrades in the MTA and upgrades that are for every – even the disabled?
24 million was spent on the Bay Ridge Avenue station.. on tiles and internet access, but the station is not even wheelchair accessible.

The Reporter ran a one-sided article from Chuck Otey. The article is not labeled as a paid advertisement, so the Editor – Helen Klein had to review it before the paper went to press. Afterall, you wouldn’t put your name as the editor unless you oversaw the paper.
Otey’s one-sided article took aim at Fight Back Bay Ridge (FBBR) because Fight Back Bay Ridge told the truth about Marty Golden not funding public schools in the area. Otey is a friend of Senator Golden so he often defends the senator in the paper. Yet, the article wasn’t syndicated online as an individual article (although the paper does publish a full digital version).
When one-sided journalism is published in a local paper, it hurts the community. People believe what is written because they believe THE EDITOR – HELEN KLEIN has some due diligence to the public. While Chuck Otey took it upon himself to ruin Fight Back Bay Ridge’s reputation in the nabe, he didn’t even allow one of their members to share their views in the article. Otey doesn’t realize that this is hurting our neighborhood (or doesn’t care). Otey doesn’t mention that Senator Golden’s wife apologized to FBBR. We are unsure why Chuck Otey’s article was not published as an article for the online version. Is he hiding? Both FBBR and I have written him tweets on Twitter.
This Summer, I saw one writer for the paper deliberately distort the news and his writing actually contradicted another writer for the paper. I wrote to Helen Klein – with my real name and e-mail address. Digital editor, Meghan McGoldrick encouraged me to write to Klein, yet Klein failed to reply. When I looked at my e-mail to make sure I had used the correct e-mail address (I did), I saw I had sent several e-mails to Helen Klein since 2014 – all went unanswered.
When an editor of a paper doesn’t respond to an e-mail about incorrect information, you know that people aren’t the reason that paper runs. How do I know? One day I wrote to an editor who took the time to respond to me on his daughter’s wedding day.
When will Helen Klein print the truth about Senator Golden and his pay-to-play bills? NEVER is probably the answer because our local papers didn’t even share the information that Senator Golden introduced a bill which gave huge tax breaks to a developer in Manhattan for this building:
Does this building look like it needs tax breaks? If you for even a small though think it did – Why didn’t the Senator of that area in Manhattan take care of the tax breaks?

Who in Bay Ridge benefits from Marty Golden’s pay-to-play bills for the tobacco company?
Finally, the paper wrote to a resident on 9/19 and said that Chuck Otey was from the old publication. If someone was writing and publishing Nazi propaganda in the paper, would Helen let it print as it or edit/label/delete the column? Who knows as Helen has Helen doesn’t want any interaction with residents who have a view other than hers.

September 17, 2018Some Justice for Grei Frasheri
On September 7th, Grei Frasheri was murdered on 93rd Street near Fourth Avenue in Bay Ridge. Today,35-year-old, Anthony Valenti was arrested for being involved in his murder (he shot his gun at Grei). Soon the other man who stabbed Grei will captured as well.
Grei was in his early 20’s and had a girlfriend. I feel so terrible for her to lose him like this. : (
Sadly, the news is reporting that the stabbing was over drugs. See here (marijuana named) and here or the cached version here From that link on The Daily News it said: “One said it appears Frasheri had started working for a dealer who was a rival of the man for whom he used to work.” I was so sad to hear this.
On September 24, 2018, Eric Cruz, 46 was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment, according to police.

While nothing will bring Grei Frasheri back, his family needs to see some justice happen.

September 16, 2018Mark Treyger Divisiveness Forced Me to Switch Parties
In 2012, when we had a problem on our street, one my neighbors said we should contact Marty Golden. Senator Golden’s staffers, John Quaglione and another man (no longer working there) were my contacts. For the next 10 months, when I called or e-mailed Golden’s office, they didn’t remember who I was or they didn’t call back. (See here) Finally, ten months later, Quaglione tweeted me a response and told me nothing was going to be done. I contacted another office outside of the district and asked someone else for help. Within weeks, the problem was corrected.
In 2014, Jaime Kemmerer ran for office against Senator Golden. Kemmerer was an amazing Democrat and he knew how corrupt Marty Golden was back in 2014 (some people are just finding out now). Kemmerer took action, but Mark Treyger did not support him. Without the two sides of the district united, Marty Golden won. Essentially, Mark Treyger helped Marty Golden stay in office and that’s when Mark Treyger became known as a “bad democrat.” Even Zephr Teachout came to stand with Jaime Kemmer outside of the Bay Ridge Manor. Where was Mark Treyger?
Before the next election, I spoke to a well-known Democrat at a Street Fair. I was told the Democrats did not have a candidate. The reason was because of Treyger. Mark Treyger would not support a candidate in Bay Ridge because he/his club had a disagreement with Justin/his club (I wasn’t sure that this was true, until I read Charlie Ragusa’s tit-for-tat comment). I was told that the Republicans had a candidate, who was considering running against Golden. I went online and found the man. He was contemplating throwing his hat in and that would mean there would be a primary election. I changed my party, so I could support him and get the corrupt Senator Golden out of office.* I would not have changed parties if the Democrats put up a candidate, but Mark Treyger stood in the way of that happening.* Senator Golden had given huge tax breaks to developers in Manhattan and his actions went unnoticed by most of the community because the news was not shared in any local papers. My husband, an Independent also changed his party, as did some other people. I was going to do what I could to vote him out. Unfortunately, the Republican changed his mind and didn’t challenge Golden because Golden had a lot of $$. My husband offered to run against Golden, but I didn’t want him to go to Albany.
It’s 2018 and Mark Treyger thinks Corey Johnson, the newer Democrats in City Council and residents don’t know how he *played politics* in our community all of these years and CONTINUES to give power to the Republicans through his support for IDC Senator Diane Savino. Mark sent out a message on Facebook saying that we should all be together. This video was taken this Summer – does it sound like Mark Treyer is promoting unity? We aren’t interested in Mark Treyger playing politics with his corrupt friends.
