According to this article, it looks like The Harbor Ring’s dream to ride over the Verrazano Bridge may come true soon.
I don’t think it will be this Summer, but it will happen.

March 23, 2019Officer Hurt During 85th Street Shop Drug Raid
“Loudlabs Reported: On Friday night around 7:30 pm, a narcotics cop was injured during a drug raid at 510 85th Street (off 5th Avenue next to this barber)
“According to witnesses who asked to remain anonymous, a team of plainclothes narcotics officers jumped out of unmarked vans armed with pistols and a battering ram. They approached the “Rock Paper” smoke shop and smashed its glass door in, forcing entry.”
“An arrest was made according to the witness, and one cop suffered from a laceration to the hand from broken glass. Two ambulances and ESU showed up to the scene, as well as multiple 68 precinct units. Officers were seen cleaning up broken glass. The owner of the building was angry and refused to answer any questions. The officer was transported to Lutheran hospital with a minor hand injury. Unclear if any drugs were found at the shop at this time.”

Why is Stewart’s in Bay Ridge closed?
Starbucks on 3rd Avenue and 92nd Street was closed today. The sign on the window said they will be open tomorrow.
Stewart’s Restaurant at 8518 – 5th Avenue in Bay Ridge also had a sign on the door. It said the the store was closed temporarily for kitchen repairs.
Bake Ridge Bagels (3rd Avenue between 94th and 95th Street) is supposed to re-open this weekend (see here)…their phone 718-680-6353 doesn’t work..crossing fingers.

March 22, 2019Al Shaibani Restaurant Opens in Bay Ridge
Al Shaibani Restaurant opened at 7317 – 5th Avenue in Bay Ridge where the Moroccan restaurant, Bab Marrakech used to be.
Councilman Brannan and Senator Gounardes were there for the Grand Opening! Look at the cute little boy that the Senator is speaking too.
This restaurant is next door to Schnitzel Haus. A resident posted pictures of the bread on twitter.
Al Shaibani serves Yemeni food. I saw someone having bread there last week and it looked great. They recommended the haneeth, saltah and fahsah.
They have a lot of Yemeni vegetarian dishes – foul, fousuilia and shakshousha.
Lots of luck to the new owners – may their new business be very successful!
