July 27, 2019RIP – Man’s Body Taken From the Water
Police took a man’s body from the water near Exit 2 on the Belt Parkway today. He was believed to be 20 years old. It appears he jumped from the bridge as a car was left there. Story here
On Citizen App, it said that the person was removed from the water safely, but he was DOA. The deceased male was placed into a body bag.

July 27, 2019Bay Ridge Community Cats TNR for 99th Street
There are a lot of wonderful people in Bay Ridge. When they see there is a problem, they will get together with others and solve it.
Bay Ridge Community Cats put together a GoFundMe to TNR (Trap, Neuter and Release) some cats on 99th Street. This is an important project because cat colonies can get out of hand. In the case of 99th Street, there are over 30 cats and kittens.
The group has the cats spayed/neutered, vaccinated for rabies and FVRCP, ear tipped and returned to their block. Ear tipping let’s other people know that the cat has been spayed/neutered through a TNR program.
There are many animal lovers in Bay Ridge and they feed and take care of cats on many blocks.
A lot of time is taken to organize this project and get people in place to capture and care for the cats.
Thank you to the organizers of this group, who are taking care of this for our community!
