October 21, 2019Hate at TJ Maxx in Bay Ridge
A woman was not kind in TJ Maxx in Bay Ridge this weekend. Mido Mourad and his wife were berated to “Go back to their country.”

Telling people to go back to their country is just inappropriate.
Congressman Max Rose spoke out against it here:
Assemblywoman Mathylde Frontus shared this statement, which I think is how most people here feel:
Councilman Brannan and others wrote a letter have it investigated as a hate crime.
The Brooklyn Young Republicans also took a moment to speak out against the hate:
Don’t bring your hate to TJ Maxx in Bay Ridge – I shop there and there is no room for hate.
Most people were probably shocked by what was happening and didn’t realizing what was going on while they were shopping. The workers probably didn’t get involved because they don’t want to lose their jobs.
Usually one person in Bay Ridge speaks up – we aren’t a shy community.
There’s a rally outside of TJ Maxx on Friday 10/25 at 6:30 pm.

The Coney Island Children’s Halloween Parade will be held on Saturday, October 26th at 10:00 AM.
The Parade will take start at MCU Park at 1904 Surf Avenue in Coney Island. More info here.
Children wear their costumes and enjoy all the free activities like face painting, caricature artists, balloon twisting and trick or treating.

Tonight, Andrew Gounardes will hold a meeting on a bill that passed the senate four months ago. You can see the bill here.
Gounardes didn’t introduce the bill.
Gounardes clapped for this bill, so now he is going to tell you about it.
Basically, the Democrats in the Senate were for this bill and the Republicans were against it.
I could see if he had a meeting in June to tell people about the bill, but why bother now?
There’s so many quality of life issues that people are concerned about and the Senator just doesn’t get it. Why isn’t his team telling him?
In Marine Park, some residents held a guy because he was doing the wrong thing. The police came and didn’t arrest the guy. See the info below – I didn’t share the pics (they are on FB) Why didn’t the police arrest the guy?
