Teen Stabbed on 4th Avenue in Bay Ridge

After school today, a 16-year-old boy was stabbed in the shoulder by another teen on 4th Avenue and 68th Street near  the Fourth Avenue Presbyterian Church . Story here  and here

This article provides more info– three teens jumped two teens. One teen was running with a small knife. Councilman Brannan wrote here: “Appears to be an after-school fight between rival high school kids that got out of control.”

Caution – in this video the teen is on the ground.   The teen was beaten and has stab wounds.  The comments below the video say that he will be okay – so that’s good news. The teen was taken to the hospital.

“A witness said a delivery man intervened and chased the suspects away.”   Thank you delivery man!

The street was entirely closed off at 3:30 pm by emergency vehicles.

Two helicopters hovered over the surrounding area for an hour looking for the suspects. The police were looking for the three suspects. The teen with the knife was described as  wearing a camouflage jacket and a black hoodie.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782)

Pedestrian Hit by Car on Shore Road

Loudlabs shared this pic

This afternoon around 4pm, a pedestrian was hit by a car on Shore Road and Ridge Blvd. Then the driver knocked over the mailbox and crashed into the light pole.   The vehicle is on the sidewalk!

Loudlabs shared this video CAUTION – the victim is on the stretcher.

The police carried a dog with a leash away.

Prayers for our neighbor…hopefully she is okay and has a quick recovery! We’re glad she is alive!

Prayers also for the driver.

In the afternoon, the 68th Precinct shared that they were talking to residents about pedestrian safety. Maybe this wasn’t the best day to talk about pedestrian safety. Their flyer needs to add a new box: “Wear sneakers and start running when a 3,000 pound vehicle is approaching you on the sidewalk.”

Earlier today a teen was shot – see here

Shorefront News Doesn’t Have it Right

I saw the above blur and went to read it.

Shorefront News wrote here, “Because of term limits, next year will be the last for Mr, Brannan in the City Council. That’s not true.

Brannan was elected in November 2017 and started in January 2018. Councilmembers are elected for four years and can serve for two consecutive terms. Why would David Strobin write that Brannan was term-limited?
