Gounardes Plays Politics Over Masks
NYC left South Brooklyn Parks out of the distribution of free masks that other communities are being offered.

Gounardes could have picked up the phone and told his friend, Mayor de Blasio to correct the issue.
Instead, he wrote a big letter addressed to, “Mr. Mayor.” See the letter
![]()
The letter was shared on social media to fool everyone into thinking Andrew is doing something. See here
Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis responded to the letter because Gounardes intentionally left her off the letter….which he denied. #Tacky
Why did Gounardes and his staff need to play politics over this?
Here’s an idea:

Gounardes can find gloves and masks in Bay Ridge stores. See here
Two weeks ago, Councilman Brannan and Borough President Eric Adams wrote an article for the newspaper saying there was a shortage of PPE. I told them they had the city’s money and could go buy the supplies in Bay Ridge.
Mask talk is all playing politics now.

May 1, 2020Parents Call Out Brannan for Staffer’s Tweets
A parents group called out Councilman Justin Brannan for his staffer’s mocking comments about parents on social media. See here
The tweets have since been deleted, but the parents group took screenshots. See here.
Brannan’s staffer doesn’t understand the situation at all. Students who have worked hard for their grades want to receive their grade not a Pass or Fail grade. The paper reported about this student who made a petition – see here.
Brannan didn’t reply to the parents – even to apologize for the lack of sensitivity. But we have seen a change in his response to parents and his support for his party – even when they are wrong.

May 1, 2020Rent is Due….Rent Strike
![]()
Many people have been out of work for six or seven weeks. Rent is due today and some people don’t have the money.
![]()
Their logo was taken out of this sign – it’s below
If a tenant has paid all the time and just stopped now, landlords should be understanding. But some landlords are counting on that money because they are over extended as well.
![]()
While the state probably can’t do another check, they can offer tax breaks to landlords. Incentives are offered to big business, so why can’t they be offered to landlords?
![]()
Some people are using their stimulus checks because they don’t want to get thrown out.

April 30, 2020Verrazzano Bridge Jumper
![]()
The information came tonight online. A man had jumped from the Verrazzano Bridge early this morning.
LOOK:
![]()
RIP. How awful for this man’s family and friends.
Five days ago, a 19 year old girl jumped from the bridge. (See here) On April 17th, a man released from jail jumped from the bridge – Story here.
We heard the copters flying around this morning and thought it must be another jumper. The Citizen App showed video of the FDNY near the bridge around 10:30 am. See here
Since there is less traffic on the Verrazzano Bridge now because businesses are closed, NYC should complete the fencing around the bridge. This is a hard time now and the bridge should be secured so no one else is hurt.
