April 30, 2020Gounardes Wants 4/20 Weed Day to Be Constitution Day
The Pandemic virus is in full effect.
Over 300 people in NYC are dying each day.
Tonight Senator Andrew Gounardes and some other NYS Senators had a meeting. The meeting announcement sounded decent, but it wasn’t.
Gounardes went into detail on how he wanted to make April 20th (which is Weed Day explained below). Yes, during the Pandemic while renters are waiting for relief, he talked about making April 20th Constitution Day…April 20th was four days ago. Not one senator spoke up or tried to change the topic – they sat their like sheep listening to this nonsense as if it was important.
Two senators were involved in other online meetings. Biaggi showed up at 6:30 pm. As soon as she came in, the moderator asked Biaggi about her favorite pandemic breakfast. I wasn’t sure if I was listening to Senators or 12 year olds. Biaggi said she liked bars for breakfast and then broke down talking about her favorite drink, kombucha. #NotJoking
John Liu overbooked (because he’s so important LOL) and stayed in this meeting, even though he had another virtual meeting. Again not one senator hinted or said, “We’ll see you soon John.”
(April 20th is celebrated as weed day because 4:20 pm each day is known as weed time for some people…..While I know many of you know 4:20 time, some of my family members would be wondering why 4/20 is called Weed Day and will call me to tell me that I didn’t explain this well enough.)

Update: My friend called them early today. They said the office was busy and she should wait until later because there is over an hour wait. This is a blood test, so the test are not going to run out. My friend went in at 2:30 and was out before 3:00. She didn’t have to pay a co-payment and the test was covered completely under her insurance. Results are in 48 hours usually, but could be up to 3 days.

April 28, 2020Why Won’t Senator Gounardes Intervene for the Seniors?

The Bensonhurst Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare at 1740 – 84th Street reported 34 deaths to the state Department of Health. The seniors weren’t allowed to have visitors, so who infected them.
The families are angry and grieving. They have a petition here – sign if you support them.
As seniors are dying in nursing homes in his district in Brooklyn, why can’t Senator Gounardes ask Governor Cuomo or the Department of Health to step in? The USNS Comfort or any other location would be better than leaving them in the same facility with the virus just waiting to get them.
Governor Cuomo was on tv today and normally he is very good, but today, he really didn’t seem to understand that Brooklyn seniors need help! If Gounardes relayed this to him, maybe he would have a better understanding. The journalists pressed for the USNS Comfort ship to be used for the seniors and Cuomo wouldn’t budge.

The flyover has been postponed to 4/28.
The US Navy Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds will be conducting the Operation America Strong flight of the Hudson River Newark New Jersey East River and Long Island for national unity and support of those fighting on the front lines in our battle against Covid 19.
The US military flight demonstration team consisting of eight US Airforce Thunderbird F-16 and seven US Navy Blue Angel Jets will start in NYC at noon. It will be around Bay Ridge between 12:00 pm – last time they were early, so be early if you are going down to the pier to see it.
