Walgreens on 13th Ave. and 70th St. Was Closed
Walgreens on 13th Avenue was short-staffed, so they had to temporarily close.
They said to call tomorrow to see if they were able to get a pharmacist to cover.

MESA South Brooklyn Charter High School’s Grand Opening was Today!

MESA Charter High School at 1222- 63rd Street had their grand opening today.
MESA stands for Math, Engineering and Science Academy.
The new administration invited members of the community to the grand opening.
That tells us this is an experienced group of educators, who are determined to make this a successful school in Brooklyn!
Congratulations to Ms. Anna Spoden, the principal of MESA South Brooklyn, the staff and the 125 students, who will start this new high school together in September!

Coney Island Doesn’t Need a Casino – Brooklyn Stand Up Against This Developer!
Coney Island residents have spent the last six months attending meetings and fighting for their community. They need our help Brooklyn!
On Tuesday, August 26th, there is a meeting that will allow people to speak out against the casino. The casinos own reports show that not many Coney Island residents will receive jobs (see the newspapers about this).

They are having the meeting on one of the busiest weeks in the Summer because they want to claim that Brooklyn didn’t care. Look at the time of the meeting – it’s purposely made early so people who are working can’t attend!

A TLC driver lost control of his Tesla vehicle. Seven people were injured but they are okay.

When I Contact Alec Brook-Krasny, He Responds. Stop Playing Politics Chris McCreight
I write to politicians to ask questions (usually about crime). When I write to Alec Brook-Krasny, he responds fast (either that day or early the next day if I send an email late).
Chris McCreight, a Democratic District Leader has run for the NYS Assembly seat several times and been unsuccessful. McCreight works in Justin Brannan’s office and has been silent about many things (he attended the City of Yes Meeting at St. Anselm and he did not speak up.)
What else has Chris McCreight been silent about?
Bay Ridge Vote Against Chris McCreight! CLOSE ELECTION! McCreight Took Money From…
McCreight allowed corruption to happen in our community because he was silent. Why didn’t he write an article or share something on social media about the corruption?
When Justin Brannan voted in favor of the City of Yes and then carved his own home out of the City of Yes, why didn’t Chris McCreight speak up? Because Chris thinks you don’t know.
Chris McCreight failed to speak out against the Nathan’s school deal (or any other “strange” school deals our community has seen).
Chris McCreight failed to tell us that he was supporting Charter Schools. Yet, Politico wrote that McCreight accepted $68,000 from these groups representing Charter Schools.“The PAC for charter schools, Democrats for Education Reform spent $43,000 on Chris McCreight. McCreight has also seen $25,000 spent on a mailer from New Yorkers for a Balanced Albany, another charter school PAC. (Source) It’s about the money for McCreight!
Chris McCreight has the time and money to make and purchase Facebook ads for an election that would not take place until November 2026:

Today, The NYPD Told Us About a Robbery That Happened on July 4th – 8th Ave. in Sunset Park
There was a robbery on Friday, July 4, 2025, at 4:30 am in front of 827 – 59 Street. The NYPD only shared this with us today, Thursday, August 21st.
This is wayyyy to long to wait to tell the community! How many more people did they rob in the area because the community was not told?
A 50-year-old male was approached by six thieves. The thieves struck the man multiple times with an iron stick. They stole the man’s wallet with $800. The thieves fled in a dark-colored Mercedes-Benz SUV.
