Mocha Mocha Coffee Shop on 86th Street Closed

\

Mocha Coffee at 8602 4th Avenue in Bay Ridge closed  – it’s boarded up.

The pandemic took out this business. We are going to see more businesses closing in September because all the back rent from April is due this month.

It’s so sad to hear this news as places like this have been in our community for a long time.  :(

Status Q is Behind the Eight Ball

Pool Halls were excluded from the four stages of New York State’s re-opening plans.

Brian, the owner of Status Q Billards at 8218 – 3rd Avenue and 82nd Street was on Channel 1 News because he isn’t able to open and make money for rent.

See Channel 1 News here.

Status Q has been in business for many years and the state is stopping them from re-opening, but how can they pay their bills?

Kevin from Gotham City Billards on Avenue (see here) was also on the news segment.

Al-Waha Food Market Opened on 5th Avenue

The 5th Avenue BID announced that Al-Waha Food Market opened at 7305 – 5th Avenue is now open.

We saw them setting up and thought that was a great place on the Avenue for a market.

Congratulations and good luck to the new owners!

This location was where Pearson Paint and Hardware used to be. Last year, a furniture store occupied the area, but didn’t do well there.

Lamborghini Crashed in Ditch on 65th Street

Two cars collided last night on 65th and 4th Avenue

Citizen App videos here

Senator Gounardes will continue to tell us that he made our streets safer.

Yet, we know that people are racing around here still.

Last night, Adam at Loudlabs NYC caught this footage of a Lamborghini being pulled out “a ditch” on 65th Street and 4th Avenue.

Adam wrote under the video: “A two-vehicle collision sent a Lamborghini crashing through a fence and into a ditch. It happened at 10:20 pm Tuesday at 65th Street & 4th Avenue, within the confines of the 68th Precinct. According to the Lambo driver, the Toyota Avalon ran a red light and made a left turn, hitting the Lambo and causing it to crash through a fence and into a ditch. The Lambo driver was not treated by EMS and remained on the scene. The Toyota driver was not around and may have been transported to hospital for injuries. ESU was requested to the scene, who pulled the Lambo out of the ditch and moved the Toyota to the side.”
