Rappers on the Wall on 85th Street in Bay Ridge

rappers on the wall in bay ridge eazy gonzalez

Do you know about this mural in Bay Ridge?

It’s on 85th Street between 5th and 6th Avenue in Bay Ridge.

I asked some people about it as I was curious about origin of this dedication murals origins.

No one seemed to know it was there.

It was painted by two artists:  Zermillion (see here)  and Easy Gonzalez (see site

They call it: East Coast West Coast Legends

Here’s Easy Gonzalez:

All four rappers in the painting were murdered.

The guy in the crown is Notorious BIG.  He was born in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn. Biggie was shot in 1997 in a drive-by shooting in LA.

At the other end of the painting is Tupac Skakur. Tupac was born in 1971 in East Harlem, NYC. He was killed in Las Vegas over 20 years ago.

Next to Biggie is Pop Smoke who was killed in February 2020. He was only 20 years old and from Canarsie, Brooklyn. He was killed in a home invasion in Los Angeles.

Between Pop Smoke and Tupac is Nipsey Hustle who was shot in the parking lot of his clothing store in LA in 2017.

I’m not sure why 5th Avenue in Bay Ridge was chosen for this work.

Just Another Car Jacking in The ‘Hood

Another weekend – another car jacking in Bay Ridge.

Tonight, around 6:30 pm, a gray Infiniti Q50 was taken.  It’s a nice looking sedan – see here

By the end of the weekend, some stupid politician will claim this didn’t happen and that it was just a kid who took his Mom’s keys.

Steve Patzer Wants to Dive in Coney Island Creek

I don’t know Steve Patzer.

Patzer seems lika a decent politician (Is there even such a thing?).

The paper said that Patzer and a team of people intend to dive into Coney Island Creek on Saturday!  (See story)

I don’t think Patzer realizes how polluted the water it.

In the paper, he referred to the bottom of the water as mayonnaise. Nah, that’s POOP.

Four years ago, 200,000 gallons of pollution were pumped into that water daily! (See here)

mark-treyger-coney-island-creek

Back then, tt was reported that “Fifteen buildings—a total of 990 apartments—were sending 200,000 gallons of sewage per day into a storm sewer that discharges directly into the waterway.”

Please someone tell Steve Patzer that the people just want a representative that can be bought by developers in Coney Island.

Patzer can wait until the water has been cleaned to scuba dive in there.

This is going to be one popular spot in Bay Ridge!  Women love it, but men should also like this place because Christmas and special occasion shopping is going to be so easy. There is something there for every adult.

Let’s say you aren’t sure what you want to get at Sephora’s, but you want to stop in, look around and get a little something.

Get the Sephora Favorites for $10.00.

The mascara is good – it makes it look like you are wearing lash extensions.

Gounardes’ “Bill” That Doesn’t Exist – #FooledYa

Andrew Gounardes submitted an article to the newspaper BEFORE he submitted the bill (it’s labeled September 25, 2020). Gounardes had all year to do this and didn’t bother. But it’s election season now.  See 9/25/20 bill here

Residents have complained to politicians about the drag racing in Bay Ridge since the start of the pandemic.  (They complained about it in Spring 2019.)

Andrew Gounardes and Justin Brannan talked to the press about the drag racing, but didn’t do anything about it! See here and here

Drag racers continued to own the streets.

Andrew Gounardes had a street task force that didn’t do anything about the drag racing.  See here

Today,  The Daily News had a story by Dennis Slattery that Brannan and Gounardes made a bill. Both politicians boasted about their shared legislation.

I wanted to read the bill.

I went to NYC Council’s site, chose Advanced and under Sponsor, pulled down Justin Brannan’s name.    (See here)

NYC Council has all the bills up to 9/23/20.   Justin Brannan does not have a bill about drag racers or mufflers.

Why would Dennis Slattery write about a bill that doesn’t exist?

Slattery is a journalist for The Daily News – in Albany. (See here)  I guess he doesn’t think it matters if the bill is published or submitted.

Slattery wrote, “Brannan will introduce the bill as a resolution at the city level.”

Has Andrew Gounardes fooled you enough yet, Bay Ridge?

This is just a last-ditch effort before the election.

Gounardes gave out a lot of surveys, but didn’t represent Bay Ridge well in Albany.  Now he is racing around trying to look like he cares.

The only person Gounardes introduced that bill to yesterday was to Dennis Slattery, the reporter.

Gounardes is a state representative – no bills were introduced at the state level by him on this topic.

BUT Brad Hoylman did introduce a bill on this topic on September 16th.  (See here)

Senator Gounardes is not even a co-sponsor of the bill:

(Both Senator Liz Kruger and Senator Robert Jackson are co-sponsors of Hoylman’s bill.)

——————-

Andrew Gounardes doesn’t understand that the NYPD has a lot  bigger issues than drag racing!

Everyone knows there is a problem, but our elected officials haven’t acknowledged it because they live in a bubble!

Even Cuomo called out NYC for inaction!   See story

On September 9, 2020, a new business owner was shot at! Not one newspaper or politician even acknowledged this happened to him, so he went to the papers to tell us!    See here    This happened 6 blocks from Gounardes’ office and he didn’t acknowledge it OR DO ANYTHING!

Captain Tolson started at the 68th Precinct in June – right around the time NYC Council thought talking about “defunding the police” was okay.   Here is Justin Brannan talking about defunding (see here)

Last night at the 68th Precinct Community Council, Captain Tolson spoke to Bay Ridge about the drag-racing. Captain Tolson said he could follow up with the drag racers, if he had a license plate.

Sector D of the 68th Precinct Likes Their Jobs

In Sector D, those police offices like their job and they are out and about.

It’s good they are talking to cyclists about safety. Many people are very cautious when riding, but there are a lot who aren’t.

Sector A’s  NCO’s like being in the office. They are never down here.
