NYPD Arrested 4 of the 6 Thieves From Strong Hold Robbery on 8th Avenue Last Week
On August 27th, a man was robbed on 8th Avenue and 52nd Street by a group of teens wearing masks after he visited the bank. See video here:

Senator Steve Chan shared that 4 of the 6 perpetrators have been arrested.
Good work by the 72nd Precinct – I hope they get the two remaining young men. Also I am glad Senator Chan cares about what crimes are happening and provided an update – most politicians ignore crime.

Officer Jay Pena was killed by a hit-and-run driver on the BQE. He was from Sunset Park. RIP Officer Pena.

Shooting in Coney Island – Two Men Were Shot
Assemblyman Brook-Krasny announced that there was a shooting on Cropsey Avenue and Bay 54th Street at 3:11 am this morning. Two men were shot – one in the foot, the other in the chest.

Senator Steve Chan Wrote The Bill We Need
Yesterday, I read the NYT’s article and then wrote about Connor Barr and how the law needed to be changed, so that drug dealers could be charged with murder if someone died from the drugs they sold them.
I didn’t know that Steve Chan introduced “Sasha’s Bill.” It’s exactly the bill we need NY to pass.
Last year, Sasha Tarelkine, a 14-year-old Brooklyn Tech student died from fentanyl poisoning. Her parents spoke out about it in hope that it would help other families. See their writing:

Bay Ridge residents, Senator Andrew Gounardes has not co-sponsored either bill (there’s no lobbyist here). Gounardes represents the area where Brooklyn Tech High School is, so he should have spoken out about this and taken action!

3rd Avenue Festival in Bay Ridge on 9/28/25

Sunday’s temperature is expected to be 78 degrees! But this event happens if it is raining as well.

1) Goldiroxx will be outside of Henry Harde Liquor Store at 9314 – 3rd Avenue from 2:00 – 6:00 pm.
2) Laura’s Boys will perform outside of Kettle Black at 8622 – 3rd Avenue from 1:00 – 5:00 pm.
3) A DJ will be outside of Sofia’s Restaurant at 8406 – 3rd Avenue from 12:00 – 6:00 pm.
4) Metagirl & The Earth Passengers and guests Dream Logiq will be performing from 1 pm to 5 pm outside Status Q Bar & Billiards at 8218 – 3rd Avenue.
5) Fast Forward will be outside The Pour House at 7901 – 3rd Avenue from 2:00 – 6:00 pm.
6) Live music all day outside of The GreenHouse Cafe at 7717 – 3rd Avenue on The Frankie Marra Stage:
7) Dimensions in Dance will have dance presentations outside their studio at 7603 – 3rd Avenue at 1:30 and 3:30 pm.
AFTER PARTIES
a) At 6:00 pm and on – Kitty Kiernan’s at 9713 – 3rd Avenue is having entertainment:

Randazzo’s Clam Bar Was on Man Vs. Food Show
Randazzo’s Clam Bar at 2017 Emmons Avenue in Sheepshead Bay was on the show, Man Vs. Food.
Randazzo’s is a great place.
I don’t know any of the dishes shown in the video because for decades we have been going there. I always order the mussels in red sauce. Mussels & More at 8001 – 5th Avenue and Brooklyn Roots at 8620 – 3rd Avenue have great mussels as well.
