Malliotakis is doing what she said she would do.
She’s spoke out about the problem with vaccines distribution and gave suggestions on how to improve the mass distribution in NYC.
They need to make the vaccines more accessible to seniors in every community. Choosing distribution sites in each community has to be coming soon!

January 18, 2021Sweet Sofi is Coming to 3rd Avenue in Bay Ridge
Sweet Sofi is coming to 3rd Avenue in Bay Ridge. This new hand rolled ice cream shop is between 72nd and 73rd Street. It is next door to Amuni Restaurant.
They hung a sign over the store that used to be Glasses and Co. You can still see the glasses on the old awning.
It’s hard to open a new business, but especially hard during the pandemic.
This is a nice location for this type of store. Congratulations and good luck to the new owners!

Businesses have to be creative with the outdoor dining.
Many have adjusted or rebuilt their outdoor patios to be more wind resistant.
A lot of families were there enjoying dinner in the igloos. Kids must love it!

South Brooklyn Foundry Restaurant redid their outdoor eating. The new patio is heated.
This is one of my favorite places in Bay Ridge. The food is consistently good, they know how to make a good drink and if you order from them, their food is packed neatly.

I’ve never seen this site discuss a Bay Ridge building permit. But the structure being built does seem unique. See the story here.
The Department of Buildings form says:
ERECT A NEW THREE STORY EXTENSION AT REAR,REMODEL ALL FLOORS,CREATE NEW BATHROOMS,KITCHENS,POWDER ROOMS.
There’s going to be 51,706 square feet of residential space and 400 square feet of commercial space.
It will probably look very nice.

January 17, 2021Blame Game Motorcade Passes 86th Street in Bay Ridge – CCP Protest
Today cars with messages to blame the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) for the pandemic drove on 86th Street in Bay Ridge.
Nothing about this message is helpful in our community. Why? This is a virus that the is a vaccine for. We are on the way to getting rid of the coronavirus.
Playing the blame game is a way to divide people.
The website listed on the car in the back goes to a site encourage people to quit the CCP. It’s almost entirely in Chinese symbols.
The CCP seems to be gaining momentum in Brooklyn. But that’s no reason to blame them for the pandemic.
Hang in their Brooklyn – we’re on the way to ending the coronavirus! (See here)

January 17, 2021Scooter Stolen From Inaka Japanese Fusion Restaurant
The owner of Inaka Japanese Fushion Restaurant on 3rd Avenue between 83rd and 84th Streets asked the community for help.
(Read her whole message below)
She wrote: “We have had our delivery scooter stolen and would like help to get it back. If anyone knows the people in the video please let us know. We are all struggling through these tough times and through this pandemic, if the people who took our delivery scooter can return it to us we can offer you some free food. We work hard to survive and if these people took it because they are in need we will gladly offer to feed them if they return our scooter. We will all get through these tough times together and thank you for any help the community can provide with this.”
That’s a pretty nice message from a business owner who just had something stolen from her.

January 17, 2021Car Crashed Into Scaffolding on 65th Street
This morning, around 9:30 am, a car crashed into scaffolding that was on the building outside of 2327 65th Street – the building with the yellow awning. (See videos)
Initially, they thought a person was trapped in the car.
The driver wasn’t trapped – he’s okay and only had a hand injury.
