Is Century 21 Coming Back to 86th Street?
Century 21 Department Store made a statement about re-opening!
This news is sure to bring smiles to many New Yorkers, who shopping and getting great deals at C21.
They put the message below on their website (See larger)
After declaring bankruptcy, #C21isBack is the hashtag Century’s is using online.
Century 21 announced on Tuesday that they would be opening in South Korea. (See here)
Century 21 intends to open in NY and other locations in the United States as well this year. (See here) But they did not announce any specific locations yet.
Before the pandemic, Century 21 put up a huge sign in the Staten Island Mall. (See here) Some of the current stories about C21 reopening mention smaller stores, so maybe the mall model is something they are interested in.
I don’t think NY’ers care what size Century store returns, as long as the store they love returns to their area!

If you live here, you know crime is up.
Crime has been creeping up for awhile. It was ignored when it was first happening.
The pandemic has only exasperated the problem. Crime has increased due to people being out of work, coupled with the ongoing drug problem.
Why are out-of-area people saying crime is down?
Some people are looking at the statistics and totaling all the the crimes and seeing if they compare with previous years. (No I am not kidding)

February 16, 2021Disparities in Distribution of NYC Covid Vaccines
NYC released the above map.
The dark blue areas have the most people vaccinated.
The news stated: “NY’ers with more access and means are getting the Covid-19 vaccine more than black and brown communities.”
Before the vaccine was given out, they knew this was going to be an issue.
They could easily fix this by adding more distribution sites to the areas which are very light on the map.

Description: 5’7″ tall, 170lbs, with gray hair and brown eyes.
Wearing a gray sweatshirt, blue jeans, black shoes, and a black baseball cap.
Last Seen: Maimonides Medical Center located at 48th Street and 10th Avenue in Brooklyn at approximately 7:00 PM on 02-15-2021.

Welcome to El Toro Taqueria.
This restaurant opened at 7302 – 3rd Avenue.
A Bagel Store used to be here. Before that it was Don Marios before it downsized to storefront down the block.

February 16, 2021UPDATE: Senior Hit in Hit and Run – 6th Ave and Bay Ridge Ave.
Last night, a 72 year old Bay Ridge resident was hit by a gray Mercedes Benz (originally reported as a silver Lexus) on 6th Avenue and Bay Ridge Avenue tonight around 10 pm. (See here)
The news reported that the man is in the hospital fighting for his life.
The car fled the scene.
