Andrew Yang Visited Bay Ridge Today
NYC Mayoral candidate, Andrew Yang took a walking tour of Bay Ridge on Saturday, February 20th.
Rabyaah replied that she would be showing him the Yemeni community.
Here’s the interesting thing: Andrew Yang spoke out against BDS. Yang has been outspoken against BDS because the BDS movement will not condemn the violence towards Israel. (See here)
All the Mayoral candidates said they were against BDS except for Diane Morales, so I am surprised Rabyaah isn’t interested in Morales.
Yang shared that he ate lunch at the Yemen Cafe at 7130 – 5th Avenue. But he also stopped at Balady and learned about zatar spice mix (see pic), Asal and drank Yemeni coffee with honey (see here) and he even went to Ginos. (See here and here)

February 19, 202168-Year-Old Man Mugged at Bay Ridge Avenue Train Station
A man was hit and robbed at the Bay Ridge Avenue train station on Thursday at 3:30 pm. (See Story)
We feel terrible for our neighbor. He’s probably taken that train thousands of times and never had any problems.
This is why the MTA is asking for triple the amount of police in the train stations. (See here)

In Brighton Beach, two men assaulted another man with a pipe around 1:30 pm. (Citizen app – See videos)
The Citizen app reports that the man’s injuries are not life-threatening.
While this incident happened in Brighton Beach, just be aware that people may not be acting rationally during the pandemic. If you have a disagreement with someone’s driving – let it go/drive away/walk away because you never know who has a pipe (or a bat).

Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis has only held office for less than two months. Yet, Socialists and Democrats are angry at Malliotakis for her support of the former president and feel Malliotakis isn’t representing the area well.
Staten Islander, Brittany Ramos DeBarros announced that she will be running against Malliotakis. Throwing her hat in this early may make people think that she isn’t serious, but if people listen to DeBarros’ video they will be able to tell that she is very passionate about this.
