What Did the Politician Say to the Parade Organizer?

When the Republican and Conservative Party chooses a candidate to run for office, they should choose someone who likes talking and helping people.

At the park today, Mark Szuszkiewicz, NYC Council candidate for District 47 got called out for playing politics. (See video above)

Mark’s response is RUDE!

WHO SPEAKS LIKE THAT?!

This is just another reason why new District Leaders are needed!!

Commotion at 89th Street and 5th Avenue in Bay Ridge Today

The Citizen App shows that the NYPD were on 5th Avenue and 89th Street (near the old Jeep dealership) around 7:00 pm. (See here)

The street was blocked off on both sides by police cars.

It is said that someone shot a gun. There’s no further information about what happened.

The suspects fled the scene in a blue 2006 Nissan Altima southbound on 5th Avenue.

Also note: This is the block where the new school is supposed to go.

Bay Ridge Memorial Day Motorcade

For 2022, the Memorial Day Parade is Monday, May 30th at 11:00 am. The parade begins on 3rd Avenue and 78th Street and heads towards Marine Avenue.

While I knew there technically wasn’t supposed to be a parade, I also knew Bay Ridge would not disappoint the Veteran’s. See the video here

At the start of the parade, you could hear the motorcycles and police sirens from far away.

Everyone on the street cheered for the bikers (that’s why they are smiling).

We went down to the Avenue to make some noise for the Veteran’s. Lee took these pictures because I LOVE old cars and didn’t want to view them through a phone.

Bob Cassarra and Heidi Chan are in the car below. They are running for Republican District Leaders of Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights…..Remember to Vote!

This car was so spirited and they were waving flags!

People cheered for these guys! Even if a parade wasn’t allowed, they could have closed the streets for an hour.

There were about 50 regular cars after these special cars driven by Ridgites – some were decorated with flags.

The long motorcade shows Ridgites know it’s an important day to remember the heroes who fought for our country.

This giant truck blew his horn repeatedly and loved being part of the motorcade.

Politicians we saw:

1) Congresswoman Malliotakis (see here and here). Malliotakis returned to Staten Island and took photos at the SI parade (See here)

2) Assemblywoman Mathylde Frontus was serving people in Coney Island in the morning (story coming) and managed to show up for the Veteran’s as well. (See here)

3) Assemblyman Mike Tannousis – pics: here He also went to walk in the Staten Island parade – pics

4) Fran Vella-MarroneBrooklyn Conservative Party Leader

5) Councilman Brannan or Senator Gounardes – we didn’t see them in the motorcade, but they were at the park ceremony – see here

It also brought these politicians who are hoping to win seats:

1) Brian Fox, Brannan’s opponent was in the motorcade with a bright smile. He shared this photo:

2) Curtis Sliwa was seen on 3rd. (See here)

3) Katherine Garcia was at the ceremony. (See here)

4) Joanne Simon who is running for Bklyn Borough President

Some very patriotic people walked in the street with flags – people clapped and cheered for them! Later, I heard they walked the whole parade route!

Thank you to all who took the time to set this up and remember all the heroes who served this country. It was really nice to see this young man on 3rd Avenue.

John Goldie Legget is Remembered in Bay Ridge

Memorial Day is a time people remember those lost in war. For some, this is very personal as they lost key people in their family.

Today, this young man was on 3rd Avenue in Bay Ridge during the Memorial Day Parade. He proudly held a beautiful handmade sign with the name John Goldie Legget.

The man was standing with a lot of people on the corner of 95th Street and 3rd Avenue. His demeanor was solemn and reserved. There was another guy with him. He had a sign which I believe had the Bible verse from John 3:16 (which is a great message as well.)

Who was John Goldie Legget? I had to go find out:

Leggett joined the US Navy. He was working aboard the Arizona during the Pearl Harbor attack in Hawai in 1941. Leggett is among the men lost with the ship. His remains were not recovered.

RIP. Thank you John Leggert.

Leggert may be this proud Ridgite’s great-grandfather. The family of this man must have shared his stories. Eighty years after his death, John Goldie Legget is still honored and remembered!

Bay Ridge Memorial Day Motorcade -Radiofree BR Good Pics – Wrong Sentiment

I saw this before I went to the Bay Ridge Memorial Day Parade today.

Yes, Radiofree Bay Ridge, people who appreciate the military, may also appreciate the NYPD.

Radiofree Bay Ridge posted nice pictures.

But then they picked on “the cop flags.” You can see this was a Memorial Day Parade and although someone may also like the NYPD and displayed that flag, 95% of cars with flags were American flags. (Also hear very rude politician in this video:)

When did Radiofree Bay Ridge become so jaded? It’s a parade!

Mark Szuszkiewicz Takes Credit for Throwing Trump Flag Out During Mets Game

When I saw this image on television, I thought, “What idiots!” Lee thought they were drunk college students (it’s a little more acceptable when it’s a bunch of students being goofy).

But no.

Brooklyn politician and City Council candidate for District 47, Mark Szuszkiewicz gloated on Twitter this afternoon that he was the middle guy holding the Trump sheet declaring, “Trump Won.” (See here)

The photo isn’t clear, but the glasses, beard, striped tie and pocket square do make it appear to be Szuszkiewicz. I couldn’t find any pictures of Szuszkiewicz at “the fundraiser from before the game,” so I am not sure if it is him. *There’s always pictures when there is a fundraiser and politicians.*

On Thursday night, two Trump supporters threw out a Trump banner at a Yankee game and it was confiscated and the men were removed. (See story) People boo’ed at the Trump flag and then cheered when it was taken (play the video below). Szuszkiewicz must have thought it was cool to want to copycat it. (See the video – the behavior is aweful).

Szuszkiewicz is known for using QAnon hashtags. When journalists wrote about it (see here, here, here and here), Szuszkiwicz said he wasn’t a conspiracy theorist supporter and he just used those hashtags to get more attention to his social media posts. So maybe it’s not him in the video, but he thinks this is a way to get attention?

In January, Szuszkiewicz posted pictures of him and his friends in Washington to support Donald Trump. He told me he didn’t even the Capitol building. (See here)

The presidential election has been over for a long time and the results confirmated. It’s sad these guys keep dwelling on it.

When Mark isn’t glum about Trump, he’s crying about not having any plastic bags left!

Szuszkiewicz claims he is endorsed by both the Republican and Conservative Party, so this is embarrassing for Ted Ghorra and Fran Vella-Marrone. I’m surprised Jerry Kassar allowed it!

Abandoned Trailers in Dyker Heights

The 68th Precinct shared that they towed an abandoned detached trailer in Dyker Heights.

Trailers are constantly parked on 7th Avenue near Poly Prep and never get ticketed.

What’s with these detached trailers or trailers sitting on the street holding cars without license plates?

Why doesn’t the 68th Precinct ticket these trucks without plates?

And why are refrigerated trucks always left there?

People have told the Councilman about this area repeatedly, but he doesn’t follow through here.
