Staten Island Election Mess – Investigation
While ranked-choice voting was new this year, dead people may have voted in Staten Island’s primary elections. (Story here)
“The Board of Elections has asked for a criminal investigation into potentially fraudulent activity the agency says it found in some Staten Island absentee ballots.” (Source)
While many people think this just affects the NYC Council race to replace Steve Matteo, it may affect other primary elections as well.
Marco Kepi said, “Every single ballot that has been challenged so far by my opponent and their cronies of the Republican Party and their puppets at Board of Elections have been Albanian-American.” (See here)

Yucusiama Mexican Restaurant Opened in Bay Ridge
Yucusiama Mexican Restaurant opened at 484 -77th Street yesterday. This place is right off 5th Avenue.
The food is authentic as the chef is from Oaxaca, Mexico.
It’s a small storefront with counter-seating which wraps around half the place.
Congratulations to the new owner!

Clean Up Owls Head Park in Brooklyn – July 12th
Monday, July 12th is “Pitch in at the Park Day.”
A new group called “The Bay Ridge Environmental Group” is joining the Partnership for Parks to clean up Owls Head Park at 6:00 pm.
I haven’t seen this group work on environmental issues – they seemed more like a political group. In March I wrote about them here because while they are vocal on Twitter, I haven’t seen them do anything here.
There has been talk on social media about there being only one very overwhelmed Parks Department Employee cleaning Owls Head Park. (See here) I have no idea if that is true.
Owls Head Park is on Colonial Road and 68th Street.
Bensonhurst Park also has a cleanup – see information here.
