Why Didn’t Bike South Say Justin Brannan’s Name?

A call out isn’t a callout when you can’t say a politician’s name or tag them.

Bike South won’t speak the truth into our neighborhood because Brannan gave them painted bike lanes and they were happy with. The old senator stayed in office so long because of people who were afraid to say “what’s wrong is wrong.”

Bklyner is Closing Down.

Bklyner’s site is closing down on September 10th. (See here)

I used to like that site a lot (Kadia Goba used to write for them). I won’t miss the politician’s opinion articles for sure.

In Bklyner today, Councilman Brannan wrote about the storm, which affected Dyker Heights on Sunday. (See here) Most of Dyker Heights doesn’t read Bklyner, so the people who are being addressed won’t see. The article actually doesn’t say what someone should do if they had flooding. You could only get that information from Brannan’s tweet – here.

Today is Thursday – the storm was on Sunday. Anyone who had flooding in Brooklyn probably took care of it with a plumber by now, unless they were on vacation and didn’t know about the storm. The people in Dyker Heights take good care of their homes and are very pristine.

Why didn’t Councilman Brannan and his office go to Dyker Heights on Monday? The Councilman and his staff could have set up a table on 12th Avenue to help people fill out the forms. At the very least, flyers should have been handed out in Dyker Heights, so everyone had the information they need.

When people read something in a newspaper or well known website, they believe that a politician has helped the people. They don’t realize that the article is the help being provided. That’s why journalist need to write articles and ask people if they have received assistance.

Brannan wrote that he is going to write legislation to address the problem. Why didn’t he introduce the legislation and then write the article?

*Assemblywoman Mathylde Frontus is the only politician who does not do “press release politics.” She shares her own information on social media and doesn’t waste time with the newspapers.

Governor Hochul Wants to Axe the Belt Parkway – Not True

The Buffalo Chronicle wrote about Governor Kathy Hochel wants to get rid of the Belt Parkway in Bay Ridge. (See article here)

Councilman Justin Brannan wrote in a closed Facebook group that the article is not true and that Governor Kathy Hochul didn’t say she wanted to demolish the Belt Parkway.

The Buffalo Chronicle shared this picture. I don’t understand why they would use their time to make this photo.

No one in Bay Ridge was talking about doing away with the Belt Parkway, but when people saw the article, they were interested in what that would look like. Many people were annoyed to hear that the article was not true.

Why would a Buffalo publication be interested in writing about Bay Ridge? Governor Hochul started out this week strong and there was a lot of great things to write about her.
