They are having a DJ and free refreshments at the store from 9:00 am – 9:00 pm and you can enter to win one of their raffles here as well!

September 25, 2021A Street Was Named for Dominick Della Rocca
Today, 69th Street and Shore Road was named after Dominick Della Rocca. He died in 1998. (See here)
He owned a restaurant in Bay Ridge named Della Rocca’s in the 1970’s that Bay Ridge residents said was on 69th Street. It’s been closed since 1986. (See here)
This street naming was announced yesterday on social media here, but there wasn’t an article about the man’s contributions or why that street was choosen for his name. This is when a press release would be useful, but pols in this area use the local press to promote themselves instead.
The only thing shared was this link and it shows some nice contributions around Brooklyn, but not here. He was the head of a charity organization for special needs children (Community of Mayors). They have a scholarship in his name.
It’s strange that 23 years after a man died, they named a street after him – who requested this and why wasn’t it done years ago? Dominick’s family lives in NJ. (See here)

My Natural Pet Store at 8318 5th Avenue in Bay Ridge made a lot of dogs happy last night during the Fun on Fifth Open Streets!
They had the Woofbowl Truck outside.
These doxies were very happy!!

September 24, 2021Lombardo’s Was Reviewed by Dave Portnoy!
Dave Portnoy of Barstool Sports and One Bite Pizza Reviews visited Lombardos of Bay Ridge is at 279 – 71st Street. (See video)
Portnoy loved Lombardo’s pizza. He said, “Great pizza…..this is great pizza. 8.2 This is excellent.”
As Portnoy ate Lombardo’s pizza, the owner, Manny Lombardo brought out another pie and it is a cute part of the video – worth watching if you live in Bay Ridge. (See video) I love when the owner is in Portnoy’s review videos because this is their life and they are very proud of what do.
Watch until the end of the video because this guy came out wearing socks with his sandals and talked to Dave about cryptocurrency. He wanted Dave to join in.
Some people don’t love that Portnoy is from Boston and rates Brooklyn pizza. I like that many people will see his Youtube video about Lombardo’s and bring them new customers who want to try their fantastic pizza.
I love Portnoy because when the pandemic hit, he used his platform to raise money for businesses. Chadwicks in our area received some of the funds – see here.
Congratulations Lombardo’s Pizzeria – we are glad you love what you do!
Here’s the bad thing about Lombardos. If you live near me, they don’t deliver here. When I called, they told me that we were out of their delivery range. Pffffttt.
