Eagle Scout Project Brings Big Library to NBG

See these photos larger here

Boy Scout Troop 23 from Our Lady of Angels have been doing some great Eagle Scout Projects in our neighborhood.

The latest is this huge community library for Narrows Botanical Garden – photos shared by James Johnson.

It’s great to see these teens creating and building to help their community!

Troop 23 should put together a video of all the projects they have done in this community.

Andrew Gounardes Playing on Social Media Because You Don’t Notice

No one holds Senator Andrew Gounardes accountable. He plays on Twitter like he is a 15-year-old, instead of a father in this community. (See here)

Did You Want Justin Brannan to Vote in Favor of Giving Green Card Holders The Right to Vote?

NYC Council is expected to vote on the bill to allow greencard holders the right to vote. Councilman Justin Brannan not only supports this bill, he is one of the co-sponsors of the bill, Int 1867-2020.

By now, we should have heard about Brannan’s support for this bill in one of his newsletters since it was introduced in January 2020. See the bill

NYC Council should be helping people become citizens! If someone has a green card, they are eligible for citizenship in 3-5 years. NYC Council should help those people expedite their citizenship papers.

People who have greencards use the passport from their home country to travel because they are not citizens of the US yet.

It’s strange that we haven’t heard opposition on this from the head of the Republican Party, Ted Ghorra and Conservative Party leaders, Fran and Jerry Kassar. Jerry’s article this week was terrible (don’t click) in the Brooklyn Reporter.

Maybe Stephen Maresca will have some comments to make about this. (See here)

The Post Called Out Jumaane Williams For Calling to Defund the Police While Living on the Fort Hamilton Army Base

Most people in Bay Ridge don’t know that Jumaane Williams lives in our community. Williams is the NYC Public Advocate.

Jumaane Williams is a supporter of “defunding the police,” while he lives behind the gates of the Fort Hamilton Army Base.

He pays around $4000 a month for a townhouse on the federal property. (See story)

“When Williams leaves the base he’s escorted by an NYPD police detail.”
