October 23, 2025Gus is Doing Upholstery Side Jobs Now

Gus from 13th Avenue and 69th Street closed his store and is now doing side jobs. I wish the woman from the Foam Store on Bay Ridge Avenue would do this (she did incredible work and such good prices too).

October 22, 2025Be Careful Walking in Bay Ridge on Fort Hamilton Parkway Near the Verrazzano Approach

A good neighbor shared this information about Fort Hamilton Parkway below the Verrazzano approach – The picture is showing concrete that fell on the basketball courts.

Another resident wrote to Councilman Justin Brannan about the same problem. I am surprised the area has not been closed off yet and checked.

October 22, 2025Narrows Avenue Safety Walking Sans Councilman Brannan + Gounardes’ Baby

On Friday, October 10th, there was an accident on Narrows Avenue and two teens were hurt. It took twelve days for Senator Gounardes to get the Dept of Transportation to come and look at the problem!
Senator Gounardes showed up for the street meeting with his baby. When there is a appointment, the senator should be able to get a sitter for an hour and take care of business.
Councilman Justin Brannan was not present. Chris McCreight from Justin Brannan’s office was. The Councilman is term-limited and only has a few more weeks in office. New leaders, who take street safety seriously are needed.
The following two days after the accident, the 68th Precinct police pulled over drivers who ran the stop sign on 80th Street and Narrows Avenue. Why did they stop doing that after one two days?

October 22, 2025Colonial Road Residents Seek Due Process From Community Board 10

Residents on Colonial Road just found out that Citibikes are going to be placed outside their building. Our neighbors saw signs outside their building. No politicians informed them and CB 10 did not contact them. They wrote:

Forty-eight Citibike stations are being placed in Bay Ridge. Senator Andrew Gounardes made a video, which looked like he worked for Citibike. See video here:
facebook.com/reel/1151051560301859/

Kayla Santosuosso at the debate said she moved the Citibikes onto the sidewalk, but many residents are complaining about lost parking spaces in the neighborhood.
CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT LYFT IS ABLE TO PARK OUTSIDE OF PRIVATE HOMES? WE NEED NEW LEADERS, BAY RIDGE!
The reality is that some Citibikes were needed by some people in our area. But 48 docks is an oversaturation of bikes. Gounardes and Brannan failed to stop Lyft from using our streets. Lobbyists won again.
The Colonial Road residents will be at the CB 10 meeting on October 23rd – we wish them luck! Maybe there were be one or two good CB 10 members who will speak up for them instead of staying quiet.

Very cute, Instagram-worthy scarecrow outside of Heart to Heart gift shop at 9006 3rd Avenue in Bay Ridge. Put on some plaid and go take a Fall photo with him!
I often wonder why more Bay Ridge shops don’t make a picturesque area in front of their shop so more people stop and take photos.

October 22, 2025Why Didn’t Justin Brannan Have This Lot Cleaned for The Residents in Coney Island?

Residents of Coney Island filed numerous complaints about the rodents on West 32nd Street.
This is in Councilman Justin Brannan’s district – why isn’t he helping the people? The district was gerrymandered, so the politician should be working hard to help the people. This issue has been ignored too long.
