Jessica Parks Thinks The News for Bay Ridge is that A Few Staten Island Residents Want a Ferry to Bay Ridge

Why does Jessica Parks think a few Staten Island residents and a few Bay Ridge residents who want ANOTHER ferry are news? It’s an easy story. Does Jessica Parks realize how much of our taxes will subsidize this ferry? The cost of this project is not in Park’s story. Parks also failed to mention if lobbyists are pushing this project.

People from Bay Ridge are not begging for a ferry – they could just take the bus to Staten Island. It’s strange that this is even a story for the paper.

Notice the drawings on their paper – is this group joking?

Strangely, if you do a Google search for the people’s name in this story and Nicole Malliotakis, you find these are the same people who rally against Nicole Malliotakis. (See here, here, here)

The Bay Ridge Environmental Group is also in this story – they bashed Malliotakis more than they cleaned up Bay Ridge. They also continued to praise Councilman Brannan, even after the East River Park was destroyed. I sent the story to the head of the group several times and he didn’t respond.

One of the people is representing TransAlt, an organization which won’t speak out for most things wrong with our streets:

A) Gounardes accepting money from Dealership PACs

B) Justin Brannan speeding around the neighborhood and racking up 16 tickets

C) Brad Lander doing the same.

Senator Andrew Gounardes showed up to stand on the pier with them. Senator Gounardes has never rallied for property taxes in all of the years he has been senator. He has never stood on the Pier, 3rd Avenue or anywhere in this neighborhood or Marine Park for the residents in Brooklyn who are being charged twice the tax of his friend Brad Lander in Park Slope.

We have seen Gounardes push for other things that have lobbyists behind it, especially the red light cameras (Brannan was lobbied for the cameras).

No Party for Bay Ridge’s Birthday – 12/16

Story here

December 16, 1853 Bay Ridge was established. It’s strange that there isn’t a party every year on this day (or the weekend closest to this day). You would think that businesses in the area would love to have a special day to promote Bay Ridge things like a “Bay Ridge Drink” or lunch special.

Bay Ridge merch like t-shirts and hats can easily be sold around now as it is s close to Christmas and people are looking for presents around now anyway.
