Floridian Plaza Diner Will Be Opening in Brooklyn With New Owners
Do you remember the Floridian Diner at 2301 Flatbush Avenue, just a few blocks away from Kings Plaza? When it closed, the rumors were that it was going to be turned into a medical center.
The Floridian Plaza Diner will be reopening but under new owners.
One of the new owners is Sam, who used to be with the Parkview Diner in Gravesend. The owners have gutted the old diner to make it more modern.
They will be serving typical diner food, but also some Italian and Mediterranean specials. Many people are going to be glad to see this diner reopening.

Woman Robbed at Gunpoint in Bay Ridge on Christmas Night
Around 1:00 am this morning, a couple was robbed at gunpoint by a man on 70th Street and Narrows Avenue in Bay Ridge. (See here) He stole $700 in jewelry and other property.
The thief is 6 feet tall and thin. He was wearing a red jacket and fled in a red Chevrolet Camaro.

Cute Man Walking on 3rd Avenue in Bay Ridge
Look at how cute this guy is! A lot of people were calling greetings out to him and he was responding.
He was walking on 3rd Avenue and I had to take a picture!
I have no idea what the object at his feet is. There wasn’t anything on the street.
Behind the man is a NOW HIRING sign at Empire State Bank on the corner of 87th Street if you need a job or know someone who needs one. They don’t have it listed on their site, but you can call 347-695-9040 or fax: 718-748-2585

THE CLOUDY Smoke and Convenience Store is Opening in Where Mr. Tangs Was
The Cloudy Smoke and Convenience Store is opening at 7523 – 3rd Avenue – where Mr. Tang’s used to be.

I didn’t realize there were so many smokers in Bay Ridge that we would need this many smoke shops. Tanoreen Restaurant is next to this shop.
Down further on the Avenue, a new smoke shop took a position next to an existing smoke shop – see here.

Get a Free Covid-19 At Home Test Kit 12/22
This is what the double pack looks like
Tomorrow morning, December 23rd at 9:00 AM, Binax COVID-19 testing kits will be handed out at in Bensonhurst on the corner of 18th Ave and 65th Street. They have 2000 kits to give out.
Free at home test kits are also available at City-run COVID-19 testing sites (see here)

Popup Covid Testing Site 5th Avenue & 68th Street
A NYC Health and Hospital popup site is on 5th Avenue and 68th Street. They are open Monday – Sunday, 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.
A lot of people were on line to get tested because they have the rapid tests there. It wasn’t as crowded as the 86th Street Covid-19 testing site (that one looped around the block past Modell’s when we pasted today).
Also they allow you to pre-register on the site here so you don’t have to do it when you get there. You still have to wait on line though.

Bay Ridge – Candy and Smoke Shop Next to Candy and Vape Shop – WHY?
On 3rd Avenue and 93rd Street, a small woman’s boutique went out of business.
Today, we saw the new awning for a candy and smoke shop is coming in (next to the Martial Arts place in the photo above)
The store on the other side of this new shop is a Candy and Vape Shop.
