Closed Deli’s in Bay Ridge
People in Bay Ridge always talk about having a Jewish Deli in Bay Ridge, but they were here and closed:
1) David’s Brisket House at 7721 – 5th Avenue in Bay Ridge closed years ago – there is still one on Nostrand Avenue.
l) Gold Coast Delicatessen 8530 – 3rd Avenue (it was open around 2011) – I think it was owned by the men who own Cebu Restaurant. It wasn’t bad.

January 9, 2022Malliotakis Said “We’ll See You In Court” After Mayor Adams Agreed to Green Card Holders Voting

On January 1st, Mayor Eric Adams told NYC that he had concerns about non-citizens voting in NYC. (See Post Article)

Today, Eric Adams backed the bill. (See here and here)

The Mayor of NYC took an oath to uphold the Constitution of NYS last week.

NYS’s Constitution outlines that only citizens can vote. (See here)

NYC Politicians who know the Constitution would object to green card holders voting. Maybe politicians should take a test before taking the oath so they understand what they are promising to uphold.
Even NY Election law says that only citizens can vote: (page 140)

The word citizen is mentioned 51 times in NYS’s Election Law – see here
Politicians should be helping people become citizens and fix the broken immigration system.

In the past, Senator Gounardes ranted on social media about the Constitution (see here).
Now Gounardes is silent and hasn’t spoke up about the Constitution because that would tell a lot of Democrats, they were wrong. To uphold the Constitution means you defend it. Gounardes is an attorney and had to taken classes in Constitution law.
Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis didn’t miss a beat on Saturday evening – she said clearly what was wrong and “We’ll see you in Court.” She likes her job and she doesn’t mind working on the weekend.

Malliotakis’ office has also helped people become citizens this year.
We saw Malliotakis win in 2020 with the restaurant owners in court. They sued the governor over stopping indoor dining in NYC.

January 8, 2022Why Did NYPD’s Commissioner, Keechant Sewell’s Play Politics on NYC?

I was very hopeful about Commissioner Keechant’s Sewell’s appointment.
Then we read yesterday’s news (here, here and here)

Then we read City and State’s article (See here)

Less than a week after her appointment, the article (here) stated that Commissioner Keechant Sewell made the appointment.
It was really disappointing to read because we thought Sewell was “with us.”
Politics ruins this city.
Why happened to people doing the right thing? Why can’t that ever make a comeback?

Every police officer and NY’er was looking for Commissioner Sewell to put NYC first and she didn’t. Less than one week into the new years – it’s politics as usual.
We should have seen every elected politicians in NYC object on social media but they didn’t because they don’t care. #Silent

January 7, 2022What Politicians Leave Out of News Articles is More Important Than What They Write

Justin Brannan and Joe Borelli wrote another article about property taxes for the newspaper.
Does it really take two men to write an article with no new information for the newspaper? They have a history of writing nonsense about property taxes for the newspaper, but not doing anything about the property taxes.
I’m not linking to it because it isn’t worth your time. What was left out of the article is a lot more important!
If one of the politicians became a home owner since the last article, why wouldn’t they mention it?

Because he doesn’t want you to know that he is fighting for a property tax for himself this time.
Not one person in his office, group of friends, etc. has congratulated him because THEY don’t want us to know. They KNOW how horrible he has been on property taxes and helped delay the process using a “property tax commission” that purposely failed to give a tax rate the first time. (Brannan thanked the Property Tax Commission for the incomplete report.)
Congratulations on the new home bro!
Too bad things only matter when it affects you.
A few weeks ago, someone said I only write about what’s on someone’s social media. Silly Goose, this #breaking info can only be found here. : )
If you aren’t sure if I am telling the truth…..try it here.
To the rest of Bay Ridge, now Andrew Gounardes will have to do his job this year.
For three years, Gounardes did nothing on property taxes except tell us he was waiting on Mayor de Blasio. In 2020, Gounardes went on the NYS senate floor and supported everyone in NYS getting a property tax break but NYC. (No I am not kidding – see the video here)

Brannan and Borelli’s article failed to tell people what their new property tax will be. (DUH)
What will change in your property taxes?
The proposed tax rate is 0.814% is on the real market value. The current law does not use the market value. Find NYC’s market value for your home here (it’s on the left for 2021-2022 after you put in your address). Then multiple 0.00814 by the market value and that will be your new annual property tax bill (before exemptions for seniors and people with certain incomes). There is also a homestead exemption for owner occupied properties.

January 7, 2022Mark Szuszkiewicz Challenges Chuck Schumer for the Senate Seat
How come no one told us that Mark Szuszkiewicz is running against Chuck Schumer? It’s strange that no paper reported about this. Today I saw the new on Instagram!
Many people in Brooklyn don’t realize that Senator Chuck Schumer lives here in Brooklyn. The senator has never spoken out about the high property taxes our neighborhood faces and his doesn’t.
We’ve never seen Schumer do anything to help our area. He rarely comes to Bay Ridge and when he does it’s just to take photos. We can’t get access to the other NYS Senator Kristin Gillibrand because she thinks Schumer is helping in NYC.
We’ve also never seen Schumer speak out agains the Democrats in our area whoa re doing the wrong thing.
Szuszkiewicz has run for other political offices in Brooklyn and done a lot better in the election than people would imagine.
He has been accused of being with Qnon, but he has denied all claims.
After the January 6th Insurrection, I asked him if he was there. (Photos here) Mark was honest and said he went to support the president, but he didn’t enter the Capitol building.

Mark is not a fan of the Covid-19 vaccines. I don’t want to call him an anti-vaxxer, but he is an anti-vaxxer. You can see him leading the crowds in Albany chanting, “We will not comply.”
My speech in front of thousands at the protest in Albany. Watch, share, and please consider making a donation to help me take #newyork and our country back. (Link in bio)https://t.co/hXlygPY5G2

January 7, 2022Rite Aid on 75th Street in Bay Ridge is Closing on February 9, 2022

While it’s true that there are a lot of people shoplifting in pharmacies, crime is not the reason this Rite Aid is closing.
Rite Aid announced it would be closing 60 stores nationwide because more people are buying online. (Source)
Years ago, this Rite Aid location used to be Thrifty Drug. Maybe another drugstore will take over this location!
