Scooters Are Getting Regulated Now
Breaking News…
In 2020, Councilman Justin Brannan and other city council representatives voted for Ebikes and scooters to be legal in NYC.(See here) Brannan and the other politicians didn’t anticipate what could go wrong.
That year, the pols were busy defunding the police and throwing ebikes and scooters into the NYC’s pandemic streets.
Of course other vehicle owners in Brooklyn thought this included all vehicles and started zipping around the neighborhood on motorbikes.
When people started dying from being hit by these vehicles, Councilman Brannan and the other Council representatives did not do anything. (See here and here)
When a 43-year-old Brooklyn mother, Xing Chun Rong, died earlier this month from being hit by an ebike, we expected to see Brannan and Senator Gounardes take action, but both failed this community. (Info here)
But the NYPD have!
Starting June 1, 2022, scooters and ebikes may not be operated unless they display the manufacturer’s label on the frame permanently.
The label must be displayed in a prominent location and include pertinent information to determine the intended classification.
This is a step in the right direction…..but ultimately the scooters and e-bikes are going to need to have license plates because some are used in crimes and criminals are getting away without a trace.
In Bay Ridge, a few package thieves ride on scooters as well.

Brooklyn Borough President’s Expired Car Registration and Expired Placard. Reynoso’s Response, “My Bad Genuinely.”
Brooklyn Borough President, Antonio Reynoso got caught by Placard Abuse Activists!
Yes, that’s my bad, genuinely. This car is the bane of my existence. Seldom used, I brought it out to handle all these issues. Removed Gov’t plates and returning placard. Dealing with DMV on registration. Will no longer have plates or placard moving forward. No excuses.

The Brooklyn Borough President has been in office for less than three months and he was accused of driving around with an expired car registration and using an expired NYC Council placard.
In response to the expired document, Reynoso said, “MY BAD, genuinely.” As if anyone questioned whether “My Bad” wasn’t genuine. 8D
Then Reynoso wrote something about no longer having plates or a placard.
Remember when Gothamist told us that Reynoso was going to make his security detail ride on bikes instead of cars? (See here)
Minutes later, journalist, Errol Louis is praising Reynoso for his nonsense tweet (no action taken). WHAT?!! Louis used to be a voice for the public and would call out politicians for their nonsense.
Brooklynites were quick to share that for four years Reynoso has been ticketed for not getting his car inspected.

There was a fire on the first floor of a building on 73rd Street between 3rd and 4th Avenue in Bay Ridge around 8:30 am this morning. (See videos here)
Thankfully, firefighters were able to put it out.

RIP Dom DeMarco – The King of Pizza and Founder of Di Fara Pizzaria
Domenico “Dom” DeMarco, founder of Di Fara Pizzeria on Avenue J in Midwood, Brooklyn has passed away. See story
Every article about the best pizza in Brooklyn always listed DiFara Pizzeria at the top of the list for as long as I can remember. You may or may not agree, but he was a Brooklyn King of Pizza!
Dom was 85 years old and his pizzeria was open for 57 years. I met him on a rainy afternoon when I was around 10 years old. I was with my brother and when we walked in Dom said, “Hi Phil.” When we left, I asked my brother how he knew his name. My brother said, “Dom knows everyone who eats at DiFara’s.”
Other pizzerias are posting messages on social media about Domenico DeMarco tonight and each one is referring to Dom as the greatest Pizzaiolo of all! Look:

Were You Wondering What Justin Brannan Does…..
Skye Ostreicher is a video journalist for an online site called City and State. Her coverage is more like the reality tv of politicians.
Skye’s videos on Youtube are boring. She’s following around political-has-beens or politicians who aren’t doing anything. A video of Justin Brannan and his mother eating dessert isn’t interesting.

In another video, Ostreicher speaks with Max Rose. She says, “We are on Staten Island with one of Staten Island’s favorite people.” While you or I would laugh because Rose was voted out years ago by the people in that borough. Skye didn’t offer that information, and it didn’t matter for her show either. (See video) The video has been up for days and only has a 153 views.
It’s weird that Justin Brannan would show people where his mother lives. That should have been edited out.
