Bensonhurst Grandmother And Grandson Poisoned

In February 2021, Tofoon Man, a 63-year-old grandmother died while she was staying with her daughter and grandson at 2469 – 65th Street in Bensonhurst.
At the time, they believed she died of natural causes.
Three months later, in May 2021, Man’s four-year-old grandson, Wilhelm Ducatl, also died from being poisoned.
They found he was poisoned by thallium, a tasteless and odorless poison used to rats and other vermin
Investigators exhumed Tofoon Man’s body after her grandson died. (Source)
Now the news is saying that rat poisoning was the cause of both the grandmother and grandson’s deaths. (See here) No arrests have been made and motive has not been determined yet. (Source)
Why did it take eight months after the boy’s death to tell people?

Andrew Gounardes’ Campaign Donations
Andrew Gounardes took in a lot of donations in January. (See here)
It’s weird that most of the addresses are from Manhattan.
What is causing these large donations?
Wow $6,800 from Edpac….it sounds like it is education group, but it isn’t – it’s a political action committee that represents dentists.
Remember we saw Andrew Gounardes introduce bills about dentistry.

Andrew Gounardes isn’t helping Bay Ridge and Brooklyn because he is busy with Pay-to-Play Politics.

3 Guys From Brooklyn Accepts EBT in Instacart
The news segment starts off with a woman from Queens raving how much she loves the produce and shopping at Three Guys from Brooklyn (it’s cute).
The owner of Three Guys said he has a program to accept EBT through Instacart so everyone can enjoy the fresh fruits and vegetables.

New Sign on Mike’s Royal Diner in Bay Ridge
Royal Diner was sold – now it’s Mike’s Royal Diner at 7609 – 5th Avenue.
The Bay Ridge Bid shared the photo above of their pretty new sign!
Mike’s other diner at 1454 86th Street is very nice, so we know this one is going to be great too. (See photos of the food)

Charles Fall Cancelled His Endorsement of Max Rose
WOW! Assemblyman Charles Fall from Staten Island has rescinded his endorsement for Max Rose.
He’s “Maxxed Out,” like we are in Bay Ridge.
Rose had his turn and he didn’t do much as Congressman in the area. There were no Townhall Meetings. Rose looked away and didn’t call out corruption or hate in Bay Ridge.

RIP Ronnie Stevens
Bay Ridge resident, Ronald Stevens passed away on February 9th. He’s now free of cancer and with God.
His wake is a McLaughlin Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 16th. (Info here) The mass is at Our Lady of Angels on Thursday, February 17th.
The Bay Ridge Senior Center wrote:
While I didn’t know Ronnie, I did know Ronnie’s mother, Ann Stevens from OLPH – she ran the OLPH plaid twirlers for many years.
I also know his family member, community activist, Debbie Stevens. Many prayers for Ronnie’s family.

Homeowners – This Property Tax Meeting by Senator Gounardes Was Not Useful
Last year, my husband went to the meeting that the politicians held about property taxes with the Department of Finance.
It wasn’t helpful at all. Here’s why:
a) The politicians were there to say hello and then logged out of the meeting. A staffer was logged in with their camera off.
b) The person from the Department of Finance showed slides, but didn’t have any new information. Although they offered to take questions, they didn’t answer any. They told my husband to go to the next meeting which was weeks after that meeting.
c) My husband was the only one who asked questions, so someone should have provided an answer.
d) The politician‘s staffer who was logged did not have her camera on and did not provide any assistance when the Department of Finance failed to help. My husband didn’t receive an email from the politician’s office with help, but should have.

10 Years
Yesterday and today I heard songs that I haven’t heard in a decade.
Both times, other people were playing the music.
I stopped and smiled because they were my brother’s favorite songs. He’s been gone for 10 years today.
He was 12 years older and a teenager when I was a kid. He took good care of me and I miss him a lot.
