Was Justin Brannan Baffled When President Joe Biden Said to “Fund the Police?”

Justin Brannan and his political group voted for Bernie Sanders, rather than Joe Biden. I don’t think he was surprised Joe Biden called for FUNDING THE POLICE.

Biden even repeated: FUND THE POLICE.

At least there are Democrats that understand “defunding the police” was the worst thing NYC Council did.

Remember when Justin Brannan shared this message on Social media?

Although NYC Council did not defund the police as much as they planned to, the police budget was changed.

Justin Brannan should have changed the language and stopped the use of the words, “Defund the police,” but he was playing politics and thought people wouldn’t notice.

In the Fall of 2021, Errol Louis asked Brannan and all of the NYC Council members, who were running to be NYC Council Speaker about the change in the police’s budget. Not one politician said, “No we didn’t defund the police.” They knew that Errol Louis knew exactly what happened! In 2021, NYC Council voted to improve the police budget. (See here)

68th Precinct Took Guns Off the Street

This morning, the 68th Precinct shared that they took these weapons and drugs off of the streets. Not one politician retweeted or acknowledged the police officers work.

The politicians in our area are busy tweeting and trying to impress other Democrats with their tweets and aren’t using social media to help our neighborhood.

Is the Brooklyn Reporter Caught in the Past?

I was waiting for the local papers to write about the super gerrymandering that went on in our community, but somehow the journalists missed that story. (If you saw the new district map (here), you would understand what I meant)

This week, journalist, Chuck Otey wrote an article about a volunteer event that happened in Bay Ridge in the 90’s. (See here) Otey wrote about pre-pandemic volunteers. WHY? There’s a lot of news and current volunteers in Bay Ridge to write about!

People are volunteering all over Bay Ridge every week. Why doesn’t Otey want to recognize the work of current Ridgites like those working at Good Shepherd Church or the Bay Ridge Community Development Center?

Every time I pass Good Shepherd Church on 4th Avenue, I see the church doing something to reach out to the people in the community. Today they had a blood drive and they regularly give out food too. They probably do other great things, but no one ever writes about it, so we don’t hear about it.

The Bay Ridge Community Development Center is on Fort Hamilton Parkway. Each week they give out food to those who need it. Once I saw a video of a lot of young adults volunteering early in the morning there. That’s pretty amazing – it’s a shame the paper doesn’t see the value in all our current community builders!

Senator Myrie’s Bill To Benefit Politicians

In the 2020 election, Pizza was given out at the polls. I questioned Senator Andrew Gounardes for his tweets about food at the poll. (See here) It was actually very creepy to see career politicians pretending that it was okay to give out lunch at the poll.

Senator Myrie made a bill so that politicians will be able to give out items of nominal value at the polls. (See bill here) You know that would be abused in Brooklyn.

Offering a bottle of water or a chips to voters who are standing in line for awhile is not the same as a politician calling people to bring their families and have lunch and then vote.

Look at how it was hid in the middle of two bills because it was so ridiculous!

BUT THIS IS WHY NOTHING GETS DONE IN NY.

Politicians are so stuck in their bubbles that they just keep making bills that they can benefit from.

Everyone wishes politicians would concentrate on real problems in Brooklyn and NYC, but they aren’t interested in that.
