Why Didn’t Justin Brannan Attend the Rally Against Budget Cuts for the Dept. of Sanitation?
There was a rally at Brooklyn Borough Hall this afternoon against budget cuts to the NYC Department of Sanitation.
Councilman Brannan did not attend the rally. (Photos here and here)
Brannan didn’t bother to share the announcement about the rally on social media.
The rally isn’t for you or I to see – it’s for the politicians to show the mayor that people care about this and are upset at how dirty the streets have become.
Where was Brannan? It appears he was taking photos at the senior center.
It’s not an election year – campaign photos aren’t needed, so he could have sent his staffer to the senior center.
All of the seniors in that don’t support Brannan – How do I know? I know someone in the picture and I am going to bust her chops about taking photos with him. In the past, she asked Brannan for help in the past and he didn’t help her.
The woman below is saying something important and Brannan is smiling so this will probably be on a campaign flyer in a year.

Jehmila Has Been Found (Missing) in Brooklyn
Update; Jehmila was found!
Jehmila is a 24-year-old woman who is missing from Brooklyn.
She is 5 foot 3 inches tall.
Jehmila was last seen around 3:00 pm today leaving her home on Cropsey Avenue.
She was wearing a burgundy coat, black leggings, long sleeve green shirt, and green boots.
If you see her, please call 911 or the 62nd Precinct at 718-236-2611.
Prayers for her fast return!

Dog Owners Beware of Dog on Shore Road
There is a reddish-brown golden retriever on Shore Road who is running up to other dogs and people. The dog growling, clawing and biting (broke skin).
This is happening on Shore Road near the Botanical Garden – across the street from Xaverian High School. Some people feel this is happening because this is a dog walker whose having difficulty walking two dogs together.
Sharing so people who have dogs and are dog walkers can stay clear of this area.

The Illegal Basement Has Now Become Andrew Gounardes’ Accessory Dwelling Unit
Supporters of Andrew Gounardes have probably not told you that he co-sponsored a bill in the NYS Senate that will allow your neighbor to turn their garage into another unit. (Bill 4547)
Just a few years ago,this type of dwelling was called a single family home with an illegal basement:
This accessory unit may include your neighbor putting a small house in their backyard to rent to another family.
Gounardes doesn’t own a home in Brooklyn. If he and his wife were paying a mortgage, he wouldn’t be sponsoring this bill.
This is the same reason Andrew Gounardes hasn’t done anything about our area being overtaxed. If it doesn’t affect Andrew, he doesn’t care.

It’s also the same reason Gounardes supported bail reform – all the people who got out of jail aren’t near him or his family, so he doesn’t care.
Just in case you are wondering if Gounardes supports the accessory dwelling in 2022, he answered a questionnaire in January 2022 and said he supports legalizing accessory dwelling units. (See here)
The other senators in NYS don’t know that Andrew Gounardes ran on a platform speaking out against illegal conversions.
By 2019, Gounardes and other politicians didn’t do anything to help the home owners, so residents in Dyker Heights called the politicians out in the newspaper. (See here) Months later, Brannan and Gounardes appeared in the newspaper at a meeting about illegal conversions. (see here) THAT’S HOW THEY FOOL BAY RIDGE. THEY NEVER DID A THING TO STOP HOME CONVERSIONS.
We should see the Bay Ridge Democrats speaking out against Andrew Gounardes because even club president, Christopher McCreight ran on a platform against illegal home conversions. (See here)
McCreight said here that there was solutions to the illegal conversions, we just need to act. ANDREW GOUNARDES HAS NOT ACTED FOR THIS COMMUNITY.
In 2020, Andrew Gounardes saw a fire in this area and called for the end of illegal home conversions in a letter with other politicians. (Source)
By 2021, during the pandemic, Andrew Gounardes decided to play politics with his friends in the Senate. They thought we needed more people living next door. These politicians don’t realize how many people left NYC and Andrew Gounardes did not tell them. In August 2021, the census said 320,000 left NYC. (Source)
What’s even stranger is that their bill for these accessory units comes months after people in Queens drowned in their NYC basement apartments. (See here)

No One Will Help the Men on the Hotel Train

A lot of people want to be elected for office, but there aren’t any in our area who want to help homeless people. If they wanted to, they would have. Homeless people don’t vote.
Every morning the Hotel Train pulls into Bay Ridge with residents.
They don’t exit the hotel because they live there.

A new furniture store is moving in to 558 – 86th Street.
Is it Noble Furniture Store? There’s no sign yet, but there was a Noble Truck outside. : ) I love new stores!
