April 3, 2022Wonder Room Coffee Opened in Bay Ridge

A charming coffee shop, Wonder Room Coffee is opened at 7904 – 3rd Avenue. This storefront is next to Luliano’s.

The chalkboard outside says coffee and flowers. Inside, people are greeted by this tree:

And of course, beautiful flowers.

The floral arranging table was in the back right – baby’s breath adorned the light and it looked ethereal.

The cappuccino, espresso and tea were to the back left of the store.

Arrangements were all around the shop.

Several refrigerators held freshly cut flowers.

Good luck to the new owners on this new beautiful coffee and flower shop! It’s a beautiful addition to the neighborhood.

A windows and doors store used to be in this location. It used this logo:

April 3, 2022Brian Fox Assists Resident With Fallen Tree Limbs

A Bay Ridge resident reached out to Brian Fox for help with a fallen tree limb near Colonial Road.

A lot of branches had fallen from a large tree on the block.

Mariann, a Bay Ridge resident was glad that Fox went to her block and helped her report the problem.

Then Mariann tweeted again thanking Brian Fox for coming out and trying to resolve the issue because no one else did:

Fox shared with her the service call number so she could see if progress was being made as well.

Most candidates who have lost an election disappear after the election – many move away and are never heard from again. Fox and Brannan’s election was very close, so he said they will have a rematch in 2023.

April 2, 2022Bay Ridge Republicans Call for An Independent Monitor Due to Conflicts of Interest

The Board of Elections needs to be overhauled. They have one job – to hold fair elections for communities in NYC. Yet, every election season there are problems.
Our campaign is going to call out conflicts of interest between @KingsCountyGOP and @BOENYC EVERY TIME. #GhorraGate #FairElections #HonestElections pic.twitter.com/FzfixZa57a
— Vito Labella For NY Senate (@Vito4NYSenate) April 1, 2022
Members of the Republican Party in Bay Ridge have requested an independent monitor for the upcoming petitions and primary election.
They shouldn’t have needed to do that because individuals with dual roles should have announced that they recused themselves from the local election. Also the Kings County Republican Party Chairman should have called for this as well! When you are the head of a party, you should be calling for fair elections.
If an individual is in a leadership position at the Kings County Republican Party AND you work at the Brooklyn Board of Elections, you should have recused yourself when it comes to challengers in your district. C’mon now, everyone knows that!
Ted Ghorra is being challenged by Stephen Maresca. Over the past few years, the Republican Party hasn’t done enough to move forward in local elections. Many people don’t even know that Senator Andrew Gounardes is a Champion of Bail Reform or that our area has been super gerrymandered by the Democrats. That’s how you know the Republican Party needs new leadership!
Vito LaBella should be given every opportunity to have a fair election and let the community decide who they want! LaBella has been an active member in this community years. LaBella’s answer at the interview was honest and tells Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights that he is more concerned with leading, than playing politics with the party.

The Republican District Leader should have stepped in by now. It’s singular because the male District Leader, John Quaglione isn’t going to speak out. (See here) The Republican Female Republican Leader, Lucretia Potter, knows what party shenanigans are and she should be ensuring that our community has a fair election.
This is very sad:
Kudos to Steve Maresca for being a voice of reason. This is Brooklyn. Dedicated Republican poll workers aren’t exactly around every corner. And telling a senior that they’ll never work the polls again over a leadership race explains why we always lose! #TimeForChange #Fairness pic.twitter.com/9N59c6Pexc

The Board of Elections should immediately appoint an independent monitor for the election. The Board of Elections needs to update the voter rolls and remove dead people or people no longer living in Brooklyn.
Hear Bob Cassara talk about that here:
Tweet for you:
— Bob Cassara (@Bob4Brooklyn) April 3, 2022
All we’re asking is the @NYCBOE to do the job that they’re supposed to do. Make sure the voter rolls are clean and concise. Why does the @KingsCountyGOP accept the sad state of affairs? #GhorraGate #HonestElections #FairElections pic.twitter.com/BYAkhcuywP
