Brooklyn Bay Seafood Closed – New Restaurant
Sadly, Brooklyn Bay Seafood closed. I was sad to see this place close as the seafood here was fresh.
A new restaurant, Spice Szechuan, an Asian restaurant has already opened in its place. I know two people who have gone there and said the food was good!
I thought it was the same owners because they have the same phone number, but new owners have renamed the place and have a new menu.
They are offering the seafood dishes that Brooklyn Bay Seafood had along with their new menu.

Grandma’s Bakery Robbed on Easter Day
Grandma’s Bakery on 13th Avenue & 72nd Street in Dyker Heights was held up by knifepoint around 4:15 pm on April 17th, Easter Sunday. (Confirmed) (Info)
The thief took $200 in cash.

The Greek School of Plato Spreads Culture
These girls from the The Greek School of Plato performed this beautiful song and dance.
The video is named: Lazarines. I asked someone what lazarines are and she told me it’s like Christmas caroling, but for Easter, the biggest holiday of the year for Greeks. Orthodox Easter is on Sunday, April 24th.
Petro Laskar Fourniotis, the instructor looks proud of his students.

New Buildings – 3rd Avenue & 99th Street
In July 2020, three houses were knocked down on 99th Street and 3rd Avenue. (9952, 9956 and 9960 – 3rd Avenue).
Now the buildings are almost complete. The Narrows is at 9956 – 3rd and these condos have the balconies in the photo above. I heard about their rooftop pool.
There are 40 condos in the building. Ten have already been sold from $689k for a one bedroom to $1.349 for a three bedroom condo. (See here) Here’s one on the 6th floor that is available.

Fire Trucks in Bay Ridge – Marine Avenue 5:45 pm
Fire trucks flew down 3rd Avenue at 5:45 pm today, Easter Sunday, to respond to smoke odor from 302 Marine Avenue and 3rd Avenue. (See here)

OLA Boy Scouts Have Beautiful Flowers 4/17
Troop 23 will be outside Our Lady of Angels Church at 7340 – 4th Avenue will be selling flowers for Easter on Sunday, April 17th from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm.

Fushimi Restaurant’s Office – 4th Avenue & 92nd
Fushimi is a popular Japanese restaurant at 9316 4th Avenue.
Yesterday, we saw four men applying the Fushimi logo all over the front window of 9207 – 4th Avenue (next to Subway, the sandwich shop) which may be their office?
Nunzio Lucy Hair Salon was in this location. They closed during the pandemic and the storefront was gutted and renewed.
Nunzio’s was where the movie, The Kitchen with Melissa McCarthy was filmed in January 2019. (See here)

Palestinians Marched on 5th Ave. in Bay Ridge
This afternoon, a group of spirited young adults march on 5th Avenue in Bay Ridge to free Palestine. (See video here)
Even children participated in the rally. This cute little girl chanted: “Not another nickel, not another dime. Free Free Palestine. (See video)
