Buffalo Grocery Store Shooting
Everyone wants to weigh in on the Buffalo shooter.
The reality is that this man is product of his parents and his community. That’s where investigators should be looking!
If you saw the Twitch video, he shot people like he was in a video game. He had no concern for any of the people.
It’s so sad that someone would hurt strangers because of the color of their skin in 2022.

RIP Samer Abdalla – Only 28 Years Old
The NY Post reported that early on Friday morning – around 1:30 am, Samer Abdall, a 28-year-old man from Bay Ridge got into an argument with some men in Greenwich Village in Manhattan. (Story here)
One of the men stabbed Samer with a knife twice in the torso on West 4th Street and Sixth Avenue. The Daily News said this may have been over a cigarette lighter. (See here) The four left the scene before the police arrived.
Samer was rushed to Bellevue Hospital. He passed away at the hospital.
A service was held today and Samer was buried today. (Info)
Prayers for Samer’s family and friends. How awful for them to have to bury such a young man.

Parents Night Out in Bay Ridge – May 14th
The Brooklyn Dance Center at 8717 – 3rd Avenue in Bay Ridge is having movie night for children tonight. So it’s Parent’s Night Out from 5:00 – 7:00 pm and pizza, juice and chips are included. $12.00!!

RIP Zinat Hossain – 24 Yr. Old College Student Was She Pushed In Front of a Train?
On May 11th, Zinat Hossain a 24-year-old college student was pushed in font of a train at 9:00 pm at the Uttica Avenue station. Zinat Hossain attended Hunter College.
Why is no one reporting about this???
Some news sites believe it was a hate crime. Some sites are saying a thief was trying to rob her bag. (Source)
Zinat Hossain was of Bangladeshi decent. She was from the lived with her parents in Brooklyn since 2016.
Prayers for this young woman’s family. Her parents must be devastated. No parent should have to bury their child.
RIP Zinat Hossain.

Update: They had a goal to raise $150. They actually raised $668 today. AMAZING!
There are two toy and bake sales this morning in Bay Ridge from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.
The families are giving the proceeds to Unicef to help Ukraine…..so sweet.

RIP Edward Roman
At 6:30 am this morning, Edward Roman parked his car on the the Verrazzano Bridge and jumped. (See here)
He was only 38 years old, from Long Island and a Corrections Officer at Rikers. The US government should have taken over Rikers a long time ago due to the poor conditions. (See here)
The coast guard rushed him to the hospital, but he died an hour later.
Prayers for Edward’s family and friends. How awful this must be for them – God please be with them.

Nakba Day Protest in Bay Ridge – May 15th

On Sunday, May 15th, Palestinians in Bay Ridge will gather, chant and march on 5th Avenue for “Al Nakba.” They will start at 5th Avenue and 72nd Street at 1:00 pm. Avoid driving in the area.
Al Nakba means: “The Catastrophe.” It refers to the mass exodus of at least 750,000 Palestines, from the area which is now Israel.

Last year, Al Nakba was on a Saturday and there was a large crowd.

Stores Selling Baby Formula in Bay Ridge
There is a baby formula is at a shortage nationwide. (More info) This is causing anxiety for a lot of parents as they predict this shortage will exist for up to three months.

A lot of the smaller stores have a good supply of baby formula:
May 21st
11th Avenue between 65th Street – next to Wonderland has Enfamil and Similac formula.
1) Foodtown in Bay Ridge has formula!! 5/17
2) CVS at 6702 Fort Hamilton Pkwy had on 5/13/22 – limit of 3
3) Superfresh at 242 Bayridge Avenue. They have some formula near the customer service center.
4) This store at 5404 8th Avenue
5) This store at 733 – 59 Street has some formula in stock.
6) Rite Aid on 3rd Avenue and 93rd Street is getting a shipment on Tuesday 5/20 Similac
7) BJs on Shore Parkway – 5/13
8) KeyFood 72nd Street and New Utrecht Avenue
9) Shoprite on McDonald Avenue and Avenue I has some brands of formula. 5/13
10) Stop and Shop 1710 Avenue Y – has some in the locked container by the register. 5/10
11) Americare Pharmacy at 8114 – 5th Avenue has several shelves of baby formula 5/17
