Nicole Malliotakis Voted for Her Community

VOTE #1: Raise the age from 18 to 21 for to purchase a semi-automatic gun. (See her vote)

The vote was 228 – 199. (Newsweek) Ten Republicans joined the Democrats in raising the age.

Nicole Malliotakis was one of the ten. HOORAY!

If you are a Republican, chill. Malliotakis knows that NYC is in a crime crisis right now and Nicole will do whatever she can to help her community .

Malliotakis’ vote shows that she isn’t playing party politics and can reach across the table to get things done. (Story here)

Protecting Our Kids VOTE #2: Malliotakis voted to ban the bump stock gun attachment. Again, she was one of the thirteen Republicans who didn’t vote with her party because there are too many people in NYC with weapons and she is trying to help. You can see her vote here

And of course the Gun lovers are upset about Malliotakis’ vote because they don’t want to make any concessions. They don’t live in NYC and have no idea how bad crime is here now.

Protecting Our Kids Vote #3: Prevent gun trafficking and straw purchases by establishing new federal offenses. Seven Republicans joined this bill. Nicole Malliotakis was one of them. See her vote here.

Protecting Our Kids Vote #4: Ghost Gun Ban. Won with a vote of 226 to 194.

Nicole Malliotakis was one of eight Republican representatives who voted for this bill. You can see her Yes vote here.

Protecting Our Kids Vote 5: This one was more widely accepted bills by Republicans with a House vote of 380 to 47. A DoJ report will be given to Congress on the ineligibility of people to buy a gun based on the NICS background check system. See the vote here

Nicole Malliotakis wanted to help her community be safer in a time when NYC is experiencing high crime and law enforcement’s hands are tied. She takes her position as our Congresswoman very seriously.

Our community needs to be aware of who is voting with us and who is voting against. A lot of votes are hidden – that’s why I write about them.

AGAIN. Now Seven Rapes in Bay Ridge in 2022

On Friday, June 3rd, there was another rape reported in Bay Ridge at 10:00 pm. (See street view map)

.

The map has the crime reported at Parry Terrace and 70th Street.

The crime stats for the 68th Precinct for May 30th – June 5th can also be seen here.

The NYPD statistics show that rape is up 200% in the last 28 days in Bay Ridge and a 40% increase in the last year.

To see the maps shown here go to Compstat https://compstat.nypdonline.org Pull down Brooklyn South. Then pull down 68th Precinct in the second pull-down menu.

On two rapes that have happened in Bay Ridge in the past, Brannan wrote on Facebook that these rapes happened years ago……Bay Ridge we know all of these rapes are not from years ago. Every person does not wait years to report.

Brannan does not speak to the community when things happen until way after they have happened, if ever. When the Compstats come out, the politicians shoul address it.

Tannousis’ Bill to Recall NYC District Attorneys

Assemblyman Michael Tannousis and others put together an interesting bill that will allow a recall election so that communities can get rid of District Attorneys who aren’t doing their jobs.

While this recall bill may sound great to those who don’t like bail reform, don’t be tricked by this politician’s late bill submission. The legislative session has ended until next year.

If Mike Tannnousis wanted the recall bill to be heard, he would have introduced it by March.

Tannousis holds a position in which a lot of people aren’t watching him. If you were watching him, you would see he submits a lot of bills to name silly days like: Proclaim April 11th, as Submarine Day in the State of New York (see here). There’s way too many of these fluff bills. You can see his bills here

I’m going to be honest with you, I’m not a big fan of Mike Tannousis. Tannousis represents Staten Island and Brooklyn, so he should have made legislation to help the home owners in both communities with their property taxes.

New Utrecht High School-Threat on Social Media

New Utrecht High School received threats on Omeagle – it’s strange that politicians and the press didn’t share information about it. (News here)

The school and the police took precautions. Hopefully, they catch the person so they don’t do it again and cause everyone to worry.

RIP Deshui Wang – Killed on 65th Street

Deshui Wang was killed on June 1st on 65th Street and 4th Avenue at 7:15 pm. (See here)

Not one politician share this or even had any thoughts or prayers for the 70 year-old-man.

If the politicians talk to the 68th Precinct, they would have known this information. Or maybe they are immune to it, and they don’t care any more.

The press could only share the information today because the police didn’t tell them until today.

Deshui Wang was killed by a 53-year-old man who the news stated “blew the red light in his jeep.” Deshui was brought to the hospital, but died two hours later. (Source) Another article stated that he died on the scene. (Source)

The driver was issued summonses for “failure to obey a traffic control device” and failure to yield to a pedestrian, both traffic tickets. That’s it.

This senior citizen lived all of these years and survived COVID-19 – it’s not right that he died this way. We don’t want to see this happen to any more seniors or people in our community. Residents have said that this is a scary intersection.

RIP Deshui Wang. Prayers for Deshui’s family.
