Is Senator Gounardes Writing Bills For You? Find Out!

Senator Gounardes boasted that fifty of his bills were made into law this year.

I realized I had to read all of Gounardes’ bills because something isn’t right here. Wouldn’t the neighborhood have improved with 50 bills?

I made a chart to keep track of each bill. Take a look and see if you are affected by any of Andrew’s bills. (SEE HERE)

Senator Andrea Cousins, the head of the NYS Senate, changed Andrew to the head of the Budget and Revenue Committee this year. A new senator became the chair of the Civil Service Committee, but somehow Andrew missed that message.

Most of the bills Andrew Gounardes wrote have to do with unions. Take a look We don’t need our senator working on Nassau County’s civil service pensions.

Some of the bills that have Andrew Gounardes’ name on them were originally introduced in the NYS Senate by other senators years ago. Several of the bills were originally Marty Golden’s – three that passed this year started with Golden. I linked to them here

Please take a look at this chart and if Senator Gounardes is not helping you, please vote for David Yassky, so we can get a fresh start!

Yassky knows how to fix the bail law (See here), he wants to work in neighborhoods and today, David Yassky shared that he would protect horses and other animals from abuse.

Early on Sunday, August 7th, a 50-year-old woman was walking near 58th Street and 8th Avenue in Sunset Park at 4:00 am. (Story)

She was punched repeatedly by a man. He removed her shirt and pants. He groped her and then stole her purse with keys and money.

The man left with his bike and headed towards 7th Avenue.

The woman was brought to Maimonides hospital. May God help her heal from this – it’s just awful that someone can’t feel comfortable walking in the area safely now.

People Keep Donating Items Outside Closed Salvation Army in Bay Ridge

The Salvation Army Family Store on 3rd Avenue and 68th Street in Bay Ridge closed quietly last month.

Most people don’t realize it is closed, so they continue to leave items items outside of the store. Simone Renee captured the photo above after people rummaged through the boxes and bags of donated items.

Signs have been placed on the store telling people that the store is closed, but the signs have fallen off, so the landlord took down the awning and made a larger sign to deter people from dumping:
