July 12, 2022Second Dead Body Pulled Out Of The Water in Bay Ridge

Yesterday morning around 6:00 am, another dead body was pulled out of the water near Bay Ridge Avenue and Shore Road. This man was in his 40’s. There were no visible signs of foul play. (Source)
It looks like The Post reused the photos from last week. (See story here) RIP.

Six days ago, a 20-year-old man’s body was pulled out of the water in our area. (Story here and here).
This is very sad and also concerning. Did these men commit suicide or is someone throwing their body in the water. In past years, other bodies have been retrieved from this water, but we never hear about who they were or how they died.

July 11, 2022RIP Sean Cregg – Stabbing in Bay Ridge Today

Update: A GoFundMe has been set up for the funeral. (See here)
Daily News Story and Yahoo on 7/12

“Sean Cregg, a 39-year-old Bay Ridge resident on 76th Street between 3rd and 4th Avenue was found dead in the hallway of his. He had been stabbed in the back by Jaymir Brasby, according to cops.“(Source)

Twenty-two year old, Jaymir Brasby was outside the building with his wrists slashed. The Daily News wrote that he was taken to the hospital, but the police also charged him with murder and weapon possession.
From yesterday:
There’s nothing about this on any of our politician’s social media pages.
Neighbors have said that a man was stabbed on 76th Street between 3rd and 4th Avenue today and he has died. (Citizen showed the stabbing happened early this morning.)

We have gotten to the point where people have become immune to violence…..and lives are not important. I’m glad there are still a lot of people in Bay Ridge who are stunned when they hear a man has died. Grateful to all who shared information.
At least one politician should have posted a general message that someone was killed – by someone they knew.
Why did a man being killed in our community get overlooked by the media and newspapers? It’s 7:00 pm and even local papers didn’t report this……why?
RIP Sean Cregg. Prayers for Sean’s family and friends. (This article about his family is so sad.)
