Someone must have forgotten to lock the bike in dock on 68th Street and 5th Avenue. Joe shared the photo here of the bike frame with the missing wheel.

Another Sexual Assault in Bay Ridge – Same Guy
Another Bay Ridge woman was sexually assaulted – this time near PS 170.
It was the same man who assaulted a mother after the concert on Shore Road on August 16th. Today, the Brooklyn Reporter didn’t share the whole story….or even mention that the mother had her child with her.
The NYPD Detectives did a good job and found the man at his job in Bay Ridge.
Will the man be held? Will there be something done to restore these woman’s faith in the system that should protect their right too feel safe in their community? Probably not.
These two women were strong enough to report it. How many woman has this man done this to….and they didn’t report it because they were embarrassed or blamed themself? How many let it go because they didn’t want to wait around for the police?
How soon will it be before he is onto his next victim?
The NYPD and politicians haven’t mentioned either assault. We don’t even have a photo or even a description to share with women in the community.

Update: Missing Conure – Bailey Was Found
Bailey has been found!
She was screaming as loud as can be up high in a tree and they were able to lure her to come down with her cage/toys and conure calls! The owners were very happy!

Bailey was last seen on 86th Street and 4th Avenue.

Police Investigated A Situation At The 18th Avenue Feast in Bensonhurst
Around 7:00 pm tonight, it was reported that a man got out of his car and put a gun into a duffel bag on 18th Avenue & Bay Ridge Avenue in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn.
The NYPD began investigating by walking around the 18th Avenue Feast talking to Brooklynites asking about the incident.
The street was closed so the police could investigate:
The officer detoured people away from the investigation:

Then they taped off the area so people couldn’t pass.
People held their phones up to record the NYPD and share the video with the community – see videos here.

Governor Hochul Didn’t Endorse Max Rose
Governor Kathy Hochul congratulated Dan Goldman and endorsed him and other Democrats running for Congress. Max Rose didn’t make the list.
Remember, Max Rose recently asked Kathy Hochul to repeal bail reform, so she must not have liked that.

Firefighters Injured in Basement Fire in Bay Ridge This Morning
Around 4:45 am, someone reported that they smelled smoke near Soapy’s Laundromat on 95th Street between 3rd and 4th Avenue.
Firefighters investigated the haze and found the smoke coming from apartment building several buildings away. They found a fire in the basement of the building.
The firefighters quickly extinguished the fire.
Residents of the building were not hurt or trapped in the fire, but two firefighters sustained minor injuries and were brought to the hospital.

Marijuana License Requirements in NYC
NY opened the application for the license to operate a marijuana dispensary today.
Originally, when they were legalizing the sale of marijuana, they said that black and brown communities were going too be able to seek the license (because these communities were targeted with 3.5 times more arrests for marijuana than white communities).
Now they changed the requirements a bit:
1) You had to have a marijuana- related offense conviction prior to legalization OR you have a parent, spouse or child with a conviction prior to legalization. (LOL. Yes, Really)
2) Have experience owning or operating a qualifying business (which isn’t a bad idea, but this will eliminate a lot of people who didn’t have the money to be an entrepreneur.)
3) Each qualified person can only have an interest in up to three adult-use cannabis retail dispensaries
Apply for the license: http://cannabis.ny.gov/caurd
Application fee: The dispensary business license in New York costs $210,000. You get $200,000 of that refunded if your application is denied. You have to renew your license every two years. ($$$$)

Abandoned Trucks – Near Fort Hamilton HS
What are trucks being abandoned near Fort Hamilton High School. Residents reported these trucks for weeks and they still remain on the street.
And then there’s this:
Neighbors in the area noticed that ticket agents drive by the trucks and don’t ticket them.

Bring Your Own Slurpee Cup To 7Eleven on 8/27 and Fill It For $1.99
On Saturday, August 27th, 7Eleven stores across the United States are having the Bring Your Own Slurpee Cup Day.
They are challenging people to bring huge cups and fill them for $1.99. If you have kids, they love finding the best cup to bring and fill up!
