Firefighters Injured in Basement Fire in Bay Ridge This Morning
Around 4:45 am, someone reported that they smelled smoke near Soapy’s Laundromat on 95th Street between 3rd and 4th Avenue.
Firefighters investigated the haze and found the smoke coming from apartment building several buildings away. They found a fire in the basement of the building.
The firefighters quickly extinguished the fire.
Residents of the building were not hurt or trapped in the fire, but two firefighters sustained minor injuries and were brought to the hospital.
