Two Dozen Families Paid for Condos at 345 Ovington Avenue And Now Face Foreclosure

Photo from video

CBS New York has a heart-breaking story about twenty families who purchased condos at 345 Ovington Avenue in Bay Ridge years ago, but their money was never given to the bank by the developer.

The Post wrote that collectively these families gave the developer four million dollars and he never gave them ownership titles to their units . (See here)

The families won in court against the developer, but their homes were already put into a foreclosure proceeding with NYC.

Once NYC realized what happened, their home should have come out out of foreclosure so this situation can be handled appropriately.

Residents met with politicians today to see if there is anything they can do to help. (Source)

Here’s the families holding up their condo numbers. We feel so terrible for them.

Missing Dog Seen Near Ft. Hamilton – Boby

This dog is from Staten Island. A few days after Boby went missing, people told the owners that they saw Boby near the entrance of the bridge. Now Boby has been sighted near Fort Hamilton High School.

They wrote: ” Please keep an eye out for our dog, he gets scared very easily and may attempt to run if approached. He also likes to hide under chairs and tables when nervous so please look around any furniture you may have on your property or near you.”

Hopefully, Boby gets home soon.

Did Con Edison Lower the Power in Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights?

Everyone I have spoken with this week is saying that their air conditioners and fans are not working as powerfully as it normally does during the Summer.

Did Con Edison lower the power so that we don’t have a brown out or black out?

We have had some hot Summers in NYC and this definitely isn’t the hottest one.

Temporary Art Installation at Owl’s Head Park

Students from Fort Hamilton High School worked with artist, Eirini Lindardaki to create this temporary art installation for Owl’s Head Park. The work is called: “Raised – the Floating.” It’s made from wood, cast cement, polyester resin and paint.

What does this installation represent? From the artist’s website: “This project tells the story of the people who passed through these waterways as immigrants and the people who live or have lived in the neighborhood.”

It’s great that students had a chance to participate in an art installation. We will probably see a lot of photos of people posing on this art installation once people discover it.

This installation will be in the park until the Spring 2023.
