August 9, 2022Article About How Judges Are Chosen in Brooklyn Mentions Bay Ridge District Leader, Chris McCreight

Bay Ridge District Leader, Christopher McCreight was named in an article about the strange way that Supreme Court judges are chosen in Brooklyn. (See here)

Eighteen people explored a run for Supreme Court this year in Brooklyn. (Source) This is a coveted position because the judge’s salary is $210,000 annually.

District Leaders met and it was narrowed down to twelve people. (See here) The City Publication claimed that the choices were already predetermined at an earlier meeting. (See here) Anyone who reads that article will understand how corruption can happen easily with the existing process used to choose judges.
A Democrat from Sunset Park stood up and called for a roll call vote. (Go Katie Walsh!) They turned off her microphone.
Frank Seddio, who is now a District Leader (LOL), got into a heated argument that was recorded and shared widely on social media. (Story here)
Interestingly the article states that, Bay Ridge Female District Leader, Joanne Seminara has not taken any money from people seeking judge positions (or from their family members). (Source) Neither Seminara or the male district leader counterpart, Mark Hanna have not spoken out on social media.
We also haven’t heard from any politicians in our area: Andrew Gounardes, Justin Brannan and Max Rose on this issue.

August 8, 2022Max Rose Won’t Debate Brittany Ramos deBarros

Brittany Ramos DeBarros and Max Rose are running for Congress in District 11. Brittany wants to debate Rose, but he refuses to debate.
Brannan didn’t debate his opponent in the last election either.

Two debates should be required for candidates running for office, so people can understand the candidates viewpoints.
Brittany wrote on Twitter that NY1 also invited them to debate, but Rose refused:

When Max Rose ran for office the first time, Brittany was one of his supporters. He knows she is a strong, opinionated woman. Brittany speaks well and could win a debate easily. I’m not a socialist and I found her to be very likeable.
If a politician can’t debate, even he doesn’t believe he belong in office over the other candidate. We’ve seen Mathylde Frontus debate several men and each time it showed how strong she was and that each of her opponents shouldn’t have been running for office.
Here’s New Kings Democrats announcing that Rose refuses to debate:

I won’t vote for Max Rose. The boys club consisting of: Brannan, Gounardes and Rose isn’t good for Bay Ridge. We need strong, independent politicians who are able to help the community, so situations like this don’t happen in our community.
It took Max Rose until last week to speak out about Gounardes’ bail reform legislation. (See here)
