Man Groped 8-Year-Old Girl At The Five Below in Sunset Park, Brooklyn

A man groped an 8-year-old girl at Five Below at 5308 5th Avenue in Sunset Park, Brooklyn on Sunday at 3:45 pm. (Story here)

The girl’s mother confronted the suspect. He ran out of the store.

Awful! The store is large (it’s where NY and Company – fomerly Lerner’s used to be in Sunset Park). It’s clean and well stocked. The store should be a place where kids can go and enjoy themselves while they shop for affordable items.

The suspect is about 25-35 with a medium build and was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, black baseball cap, black jeans, black sneakers, and carrying a navy duffle bag.

Anyone with information call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.

Paws of Hope Rescued Kitty at LaGuardia

Shortly after 4:00 am this morning, John D. from Paws of Hope received an urgent text from LaGuardia airport about a tiny kitten crying from inside of a car inside the employee lot.

John D. went to the airport at 5:00 am. #Amazing!

The Port Authority escorted him onto the property and they were able to track down the car where the sound was coming from.

The car belonged to a pilot of Frontier airlines, who was in Indianapolis. They rescued the kitten from underneath the car.

The scared tabby is adorable and we are glad John D. took the time to go out and rescue him!

Three Children in Brooklyn Were Drowned at Coney Island Beach

Three siblings were drowned by their mother at Coney Island Beach.

The children: 7-year-old Zachary, Liliana, a 4-year-old and Oliver, a 3 month-old baby were found at 4:40 am on the shoreline at West 35th Street. (Photo of Zachary Merdy here)

All three were brought to Coney Island and pronounced dead. This took me so long to write because this is horrific. (Citizen report)

Many people would have taken those children, temporarily or permanently. The children’s mother was in good standing with her family – they would have helped her.

Erin Merdy, the children’s 30-year-old mother was brought NYU Langone in Sunset Park. (See here)

The children’s grandmother believes their mother is suffering from postpartum depression. (See here) Several people spoke the press and described Erin as a good mother.

When Erin realizes what happened, she is going to be devastated.

Thank You To All Who TNR in Bay Ridge

Shared here

We are lucky to have some wonderful people in Bay Ridge, who take the time to do TNR. TNR stands for Trap, Neuter and Release. It’s a way to make sure cat colonies aren’t growing out of control on our streets.

I’m glad there are so many animal lovers in the neighborhood, who look after animals.

Good job in terms of equity. It’s a strong bag with a logo that many like.
