Ninth Rape in Bay Ridge This Year

Last week, we saw one rape on the NYPD Crimestats. (Info here) That was the 8th rape in our community this year.

This week, the Crimestats changed and showed there were two rapes – for a total of nine rapes in our community this year.

This crime happened/was reported on Tuesday, September 20th on 77th Street and 5th Avenue.

.

I hope all these victims can get justice.

While some politicians ignore rapes happening to a woman in our community, one has minimized the crime by saying the victim know the rapist. Nine rapes have happened and no one has done anything.

Unsolved Murder in Dyker Heights – Phil Guarino

On July 27th, Phil Guarino’s body was found on 72nd Street in Dyker Heights. (News – video on bottom right)

It’s more than two months later and the police haven’t showed any still shots or videos of the man who pushed the hand truck and left Phil Guarino’s body in the driveway.

Many people in our area, as well as friends of Guarino have asked on social media if there was an update, but there hasn’t been one.

When the body was found, not one politician spoke or wrote about it – none even offered condolences or prayers. But someone’s death and body being placed in our community is not something that is a secret. We should have seen elected politicians provide an update from the police.

Daily News Article: “The shadowy figure who dumped the corpse was wearing a white hoodie pulled over his head and trying his best to avoid surveillance cameras, police told neighbors, who speculate that the suspect lived nearby.”

It’s strange that a young man died and even Brooklyn journalists didn’t follow up on it.

Women in Green Bodysuits Robbed Two Women on The Train – Men Didn’t Help

Huffington Post

On Sunday, October 2nd at 2:00 am, two 19-year-old women were attached and tossed around on a Queens-bound N train. The two college students were out celebrating a birthday.

The greenies robbed the college students of a cell phone and a purse. (Story here) The paper says there are six greenies, I counted nine in green bodysuits. See video:

Male riders on the train didn’t stand up to help. A woman passenger filmed the assault. (Source) What’s happened to NYC?

One of the women in green must not have known they were going to rob or assault the women because she yells out: “Are you kidding me?”

In one newspaper, it said there was a verbal dispute before the assault/robbery (See here) but in another the women who were attacked said there wasn’t any words exchanged before the attack. (See here)

Bay Ridge Streets – When Will They Be Paved?

In Downtown Brooklyn, they mull the street and pave the street in the same day.

In Bay Ridge, the mull all over the neighborhood and make bigger holes and mess. Many streets have been like this for weeks.

Now Rigites are asking when are the streets going to be done?

Many believe it will happen by the end of the month because the NYC Marathon is at the start of November.
