Pitbull Found in Sunset Park-Brought to 68th Pct.

On Thursday, a black and white female pitbull was found on 57th Street between 3rd and 4th Avenues (in the 72nd Precinct).
The dog was brought to the 68th Precinct. There must be an officer at the 68th Precinct who is a dog lover (thank God for that person). We have seen in the past that most dogs are held for a day or two, so they can be reclaimed.
If you recognize her or know her owners, call the precinct: 718-439-4211 ext.0

October 27, 2022Slipper Thief Is Hitting Dyker Heights Mailboxes

A man wearing all black clothing and white slippers has been going in Dyker Heights resident’s mailboxes early in the morning.

The thief always has a black hat and a surgical mask on too.

This guy pulls up in his white Mazda CX-5, walks around a little and then loots a mailbox.

It’s a small SUV. Not the actual car:

October 27, 2022Weed Being Sold in Bay Ridge – Andrew Gounardes Voted For This

Alarming segment on the current lack of enforcement of adult-use #cannabis dispensary sales in NYC. Many former street dealers/opportunists are simply opening up shop without a license and staying open without penalty. Not ideal for $MSOS spending millions going the legal route. pic.twitter.com/73cCjarxtZ

Some stores in Bay Ridge are selling weed. Play the video above.
A Bay Ridge resident went into the store and then called out the politicians in this area. Justin Brannan is on the video. He hasn’t done anything about it.
Andrew Gounardes voted for the weed in the NYS Senate. Now Bay Ridge has 22 weed stores and Gounardes. He didn’t put any limits on how many stores there could be in a community.
Anyone who knows Brooklyn knows Brooklyn won’t do well with this.

October 27, 2022Iwen Chu Posted the Gerrymandered Map And Thinks the District Just Went Red in 2021

Iwen Chu was silent when Brooklyn was gerrymandered. Gerrymandering is a form of corruption.
The district maps came out this Summer, so Iwen waited a long time to recognize that there are many Republicans in Dyker Heights.

October 27, 2022Why Does Andrew Gounardes Want People to Vote For the Ballot Initiatives?

Andrew Gounardes wrote an op-ed for the newspaper rather than helping the homeless people on the R Train. (See here and here)

What’s Andrew’s interest in the four initiatives that will be on the back of the ballot?
#1 The first measure is for a bond for the environment. It has a huge price tag. It will pass because people see it’s for the environment and think that is good.

Hundreds of trees were removed from a park in Manhattan this year – not one politician, including Andrew Gouanardes or any environmental group in Bay Ridge or NYC cared. (Info here) Let’s face it, there aren’t many environmentalist in this city.
Who would get the money for these environmental projects?
Gounardes has not fought for equity for this neighborhood, so equity can’t be important to him.
Andrew’s been in office for almost four years and most home owners in his area pay 2x’s the property tax of Park Slope home owners because Gounardes won’t speak out for them.
Some ballot initiatives were started during Bill de Blasio’s team – Statement of Values and a Racial Equity Office. It’s not surprising Gounardes is pushing that. Find out about them before election day here!

October 27, 2022Brooklyn Paper Let’s Talk About the NYPD’s Stats

Above is the crimestats for the 68th Precinct for 10/17 – 10/23.
The Brooklyn Paper doesn’t think crime is up. The editor of the paper is from our area.

Petit larceny is up 85.4% – last year at this time there were 831 cases of petit larceny. This year there are 1541….and that’s people who reported the crimes – many people don’t.
Mathylde Frontus was upfront about crime being up. Malliotakis has spoken out against crime. 1,541 people being robbed in 10 months isn’t alarming to either Justin Brannan or Andrew Gounardes.
