Empire Cafe in Bay Ridge Quietly Closed
Empire Cafe at 8312 – 5th Avenue in Bay Ridge quietly closed.
This was a good soup place and very nice people worked there.
Rising rents are due to rising property taxes.
While Councilman Brannan and Senator Gounardes have some fooled that property owners received “property tax breaks,” they actually threw bread crumbs and property taxes were raised!

Photography Elite Closed Their Storefront – Business is Still Open – Great Photos!
Yesterday when I drove by, I saw the store for rent sign and the goodbye letter on Photography Elite on the corner of 3rd Avenue and 84th.
I was sad because this place has been here for many years and it had a beautiful storefront. And Xin Restaurant across the street from Photography Elite also closed.
Frank is an outstanding photographer! He also isn’t annoying, like many photographers. You can see his photos here and here.
Today I stopped to read their letter. Photography Elite is going virtual and they are still taking pictures in Bay Ridge. 718-491-4655.
This storefront has already been rented. Some shops stay empty for years. Milan at Jabour Realty is hustling! Call him to rent your place: 718-748-1800.
If Photography Elite should ever see this (or some other photographer), I think a great place for a studio, would be across the street from St. Pats Church on 4th Avenue between 95th and 96th Street.
There is a small shop available for rent now. It was a cell phone store and then an eyelash shop. A photographer across the street from a busy church during confirmation, communion and wedding season might be useful for people.

Maimonides Took Brannan’s Staffers, Deputy Inspector Tolson & Other PO’s to Lunch
While Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights residents are fighting to get commercial vehicles out of their community, Maimonides took some of Councilman Brannan’s staffers, Deputy Inspector Tolson and some other police officers to lunch at Chadwick’s.

District Leader, Christ McCreight didn’t feel the need to dress up for lunch with the suits.
