January 2, 2023The 62nd Precinct Asked About the Burnt Vehicle

This morning the 62nd Precinct asked about the location of the burnt SUV with the blown out windows:

Last week, Councilman Brannan contacted the home owner where the vehicles were parked, but he did not have the vehicles moved.
The homeowner where the vehicles were moved to, filed a 311 complaint. The complaint was closed stating that the owner of the vehicles claimed the vehicles. The 62nd Precinct already has the address from the 311 complaint.
If you haven’t been following along….here’s the recap.

He kept the same offices that Frontus had in both Coney Island and Bay Ridge (on 93rd Street off 3rd Avenue).
*The NYS Assembly Districts were gerrymandered, and new districts will be made in the coming months. (Info here) Let’s hope that the final revision doesn’t take Alec Brook-Krasny’s district away from him, like they did with Ari Kagan.
Peter Abbate was removed from District 49’s website, but they didn’t put Lester Chang up yet. (See here)

January 1, 20232022 Was Harsh on Bay Ridge Because of Opportunists. Choose Well in 2023!

Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights took a beating this past year due to opportunists and laws not written correctly.
Bay Ridge Businesses were robbed and silent politicians didn’t make any move to help them. If Adam from LoudLabs NYC didn’t reveal what happened, we still wouldn’t know. (Info)
We saw around 20 smoke shops open in our community and some are selling marijuana without a license. The law was changed by people who don’t understand how to write laws, so there are always loopholes. After months of being in business several shops were raided by the NYPD. (Info)
We saw politicians vote to gerrymander the communities that raised them, after speaking out against gerrymandering. (Here) Even the Brooklyn Paper noted this as the number 1 item for 2022. (See here)
Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights were divided at the state and city level to weaken the community’s power. Gerrymandering is unconstitutional – don’t vote for people who don’t value the Constitution.
We saw our property taxes increase and the government throw bread crumbs at home owners. Politicians who held state positions told home owners they would help them and then didn’t bother doing their jobs.
We saw bike enthusiasts and Community Board 10 be duped by loading zones which the Councilman was lobbied over. (Info)
We saw trailers of cars parked in our area because they can! And their burnt truck sat across the street from homes for weeks because not one politician wanted to do their job!
We saw Ridgites sell their homes and move to NJ, PA and DE. The year ended with so many talking about putting their home up for sale.
I’m thankful that the 68th Precinct are present on our streets. Let’s discontinue the NCO program permanently, these motivated officers can renew the community’s hope. (See here)
I am also thankful for the great people in this community who go out of their way to help children, pets, seniors, immigrants and their neighbors.
It’s 2023 – Choose well Bay Ridge! Choose leaders who want to listen and have meetings with the community, so things can get done. Anyone who has represented a developer or lobbyist’s wants shouldn’t be in office.
Neighbors, thank you for reading, sharing information and being great neighbors. I wish you and your families a year of good health and happiness!
