Happy One Month Anniversary Hiding On The Streets of Brooklyn

This hot mess – a black SUV with a hitch holding the white sedan was on fire in Dyker Heights on December 11th.

Calls to 311 by residents went unanswered. The 311 calls were closed as if the vehicle was removed! But it remained on 86th Street for weeks!

When I wrote this, the vehicle was moved the next day to 16th Avenue and 81st Street. The home owner, whose house the disgusting vehicle is parked in front of, searched online and found what I wrote. She spoke to Justin Brannan and he did not have it removed.

The large SUV and the hitch are about 35 feet long on the street.

Even though these vehicles haven’t been moved for alternate side parking on Thursdays, they have not received any tickets.

It appears that there is stolen mail in the front seat of the SUV:

Who owns these garbage vehicles, that have been dropped in our neighborhood and are never ticketed?

On the day it was moved, the residents in that area saw the SUV was driven to that location. Another vehicle followed and the the driver of the SUV hopped into that car and drove away.

In June, Andrew Gounardes held a meeting and told us that he was having the vehicles moved, but six months later, nothing has changed. Many of the hitches are empty and it ‘s obvious they are for transporting cars.

Recently, silly pols made a “taskforce.” We don’t need another useless taskforce. We need representatives who can take action for the community!

Why has Justin Brannan and Andrew Gounardes refused to take action and have that street ticketed every day?

Why Did Justin Brannan Give Property Tax Exemptions To These Buildings – Everyone Needs to Pay Some Property Taxes!

On Twitter, Brannan told a Republican that paying taxes is important.

Yet, in December Justin Brannan put in the paperwork and asked NYC Council for property tax exemptions for huge buildings in Manhattan and Queens. (See paperwork and 4 minute NYC Council Meeting video here)

Let’s look at the properties and figure out why a Brooklyn Councilman thought it was a “cool idea” to give these exemptions.

1. Manhattan – Block 1539, Lot 10 – 225 East 93rd Street – 13 stories and 133 units. (See street view) Seniors with subsidized housing are living here, but the building still should be paying property taxes.

This a huge tax exemption to give this building. These are the taxes:

An apartment listing in this building – see: here and here.

2. Manhattan – Block 1904, Lot 6157 West 119th Street – 5 stories/20 units. The tax on it is: $79,972 (Source)

This building shows there is a lot of outstanding taxes:

3. Property 1 – See Acris Paper work

Manhattan – Block 1831, Lot 53 – 240 West 116 Street (12 units 5 stories – stores. This building had boiler problems – see here

Justin Brannan asked that they be exempt from these property taxes:

4. Queens – Block 9663, Lot 2: 80-08 135th Street

This property and the one below are the same owner related – see paperwork from NYC.

This building is huge! See here and has huge property taxes:

See an apartment from this building here

5. Queens – Block 9663, Lot 20 is at 81-10 – 135th Street in Queens

This property and the one above are the same owner related – see paperwork from NYC.

Why would NYC give up this much property taxes? This is for one year:

6. Queens – Block 1909, Lot 1 is at 94-14 55th Avenue in Queens

See here

7. Queens – Block 1956, Lot 29

This is a huge tax exemption:

Paperwork has two properties – see here

There are also strange land use applications that Justin Brannan submitted for other boroughs see here

Not one journalist or paper in NYC reported on these property tax exemptions.

Our community elected Justin Brannan to help our community – not to help Manhattan or Queens property owners score property tax exemptions!

What Andrew Gounardes Didn’t Tell Brooklyn About Kathy’s Hochul’s 2023 Plans for Bail Law?

The press shared that Kathy Hochul is going to change bail law so that judges can hold defendants until trial.

Andrew Gounardes summarized Governor’s Hochul’s speech and failed to mention the changes she wanted to make to bail law.

Not surprising: There is not one mention of property tax reform because Andrew Gounardes is terrible at representing this community.

This light should have been removed years ago! Local politicians are too busy playing on Twitter, playing with lobbyists and not taking care of the area.

Commercial Trucks Took Over Our Neighborhood

This truck and trailer are being stored on our streets. The monster vehicle has been parked on 7th Avenue and 88th Street for almost a week, when a Gracie, a resident snapped the photo.

The truck received no tickets even though it has been parked overnight.

A driver is allowed a rest – NYC allows for 3 hours – not weeks at a time.
