Brannan’s Tweet From Last Week Doesn’t Match This Week’s Article

The sale of cannabis isn’t legal in Brooklyn yet, but the Brooklyn Paper said it will be soon (See story)

Last week, Councilman Brannan’s responsed to someone finding a weed dispensary in Bay Ridge that sells chocolate flavored shrooms:

Today, journalist Kirstyn Brendlen did a story about Brooklyn stores being able to sell weed soon. Brendlen missed Brannan’s One Love comment and strangely the journalist didn’t speak to other representatives.

Councilman Brannan realized he is supposed to be speaking out against the illegal weed shops and calling for enforcement, so he tweeted with a link to the Brooklyn Paper.

We need a new representative who doesn’t play on Twitter and flips back and forth.

Another Rape – 12th Avenue. Rise in Robberies and Felony Assaults in 68th Precinct

Compstats, NYPD’s crime stats shows a rape happened in our community on Thursday, March 23rd at 8:00 pm. (See Compstats here – pull down Brooklyn South from the top left, then the 68th Precinct).

The rape could have happened at an earlier date and was reported on March 23rd.

The map shows that the rape happened on 12th Avenue and 67th Street.

It’s marked as Rape 3 – see below for info on 3rd degree rape.

Current politicians don’t want to talk about crime or let the community know what is going on.

No one needs to give the details of the rape, but the residents around 12th Avenue should know that this crime happened near their homes.

It’s a week later and no one has warned the community. We need new leaders!

Robberies and felony assaults are up in the 68th Precinct.

Last year there was 10 robberies at this time in the year. This year, there have already been 22….and that’s 22 that have been reported because some people don’t report it, There were 22 felony assaults in the 68th Precinct by March 2022. This year there were 39.

Gounardes Failed to Help the Homeless People in His Community, Who Has Him Making a Speech About Housing Today?

Gounardes was on “Open for All” Twitter page today. Of course this group “Open for All” has lobbyists.

Unfortunately, Andrew Gounardes is the picture-taking senator of the Bay Ridge.

Andrew Gounardes has not been good with housing in Bay Ridge.

Last Summer, Gounardes and Brannan stood in the 95th Street subway station and took pictures for social media.

\

Eight months later, the homeless are still riding the R train because Andrew Gounardes didn’t follow through. Taking photos and posting on social media has fooled a lot of people who don’t have the time to notice the homeless in the subway.

When senior citizens homes in Dyker Heights were being flooded last year. Seniors said they spoke to Senator Gounardes’ staff on the phone, but Andrew Gounardes didn’t do anything to help them. The seniors were at the Community Board 10 Meeting asking for help because the sewers weren’t upgraded. (Info here)

Since last Spring, 9000 Shore Road had meetings about changing senior housing and a homeless shelter. Andrew Gounardes did not speak up then either.

Four years ago, Gounardes told us that he was going to fight for fair property taxes. Three years ago, Gounardes wrote me a message that said he would do it the following session. Even when the property tax commission came back with a rate, Andrew Gounardes failed to follow through!

Thankful for the Dog Lovers at the 68th Precinct

A kind person stopped to help this dog who was on the street by herself.

They brought the dog to the vet to be scanned, but the dog doesn’t have a chip. The young Husky has a bruised paw.

The 68th Precinct is holding her. Very thankful for the dog lovers at the precinct.

Lester Chang Calls for Gounardes To Stop Taxing Low Income Families

The Democratic Party is afraid to speak up and tell Andrew Gounardes to stop taxing NYC families! Gounardes has pushed for several taxes on NY’ers this year!

We don’t see Gounardes cutting spending anywhere. Incidently, Andrew Gounardes refuses to share the spending his office does with state money. My husband ask and Gounardes did not reply to the email.

Andrew Gounardes could tax some real things:

a) Brad Lander – get Park Slope to pay their fair share of taxes

b) Tax funds lobbyists give to politicians.

c) Tax politicians who put in bills for their family members, rather than recusing themselves!

Meeting on 3/30 for Bay Ridge Prep’s Open Street Program

Community Board 10 is having a meeting on March 30th at 7:00 pm.

Bay Ridge Prep on Ridge Boulevard between 81st and 82nd Street wants to continue the Open Streets Program. They close Ridge Blvd from Monday to Friday 10:00 am – 2:30 pm.

When the Uhaul truck went on a rampage in Bay Ridge, the police went to make sure the kids outside Bay Ridge Prep were safe. See the video

The school does not have a yard, but they have a huge gymnasium.

Closing Ridge Boulevard five days a week for five hours is a bit much – neighbors of the school want less hours.

Andrew Gounardes Wants to Tax Amazon Packages Which Will Raise Prices at Amazon

Everything is locked up at our local drugstores because the stores are being robbed.

The stores are being robbed because Senator Andrew Gounardes and his cronies in Albany voted to change New York’s bail law and people are not afraid to walk out of a store without paying.

Now Gounardes wants to tax Amazon.

It’s strange that Andrew Gounardes wanted to give free parking spots in Bay Ridge to a private company —-> GetAround Car Sharing, but wants to charge Amazon for delivering packages in NYC. (See here)

HOW IS IT LEGAL THAT A PRIVATE COMPANY HAS HOLD OF PUBLIC PROPERTY?

Not one person on Community Board 10 has stood up for the existing businesses that are being undercut by GetAround’s deal. (See here)

Gounardes voted for cannabis to be sold in NY and said the tax money raised would help NYC. Since it wasn’t rolled out correctly, many places are selling it. Whose checking that the taxes are being collected?

Four years ago, Andrew Gounardes told Bay Ridge he was going to help them with their property taxes. Two years ago, Gounardes said he was waiting for DeBlasio. The Property Tax Commission came back with the rates and Gounardes didn’t do anything. Andrew sits on Twitter and writes tweets, but isn’t work for our community.
