Manhattan Neighborhood Map

This is a great neighborhood map of Manhattan. I love how they added all the small newer neighborhoods.

April 22, 2023First Candidate to Speak Out Against Shore Hill Expansion in Bay Ridge
We need to just say no the shady plan to tear down the parking lot at 9000 Shore Hill in #BayRidge. Building another complex here is just going to cause a traffic nightmare, sewage backup, and ignores far better locations. #ShoreRoad #Brooklyn pic.twitter.com/vQ0g6JYOys
— Avery Pereira for City Council (@Avery4Brooklyn) April 22, 2023
The developers for 9000 Shore Road spoke to the community last Spring. They said they would return with changes in the Fall. In the Fall, the developers came back and showed how out-of-touch they are with the community.
Avery Pereira is the first candidate for NYC Council who has spoken out against the development and stands with the residents. At a time when our neighborhood is being overtaken by developers and lobbyists projects, this is important.

April 22, 2023Brooklyn Community 11 Meeting – April 24th

Brooklyn residents are attending Community Board 11’s meeting because several nine story buildings are being planned for 86th Street and 14th Avenue. This area is not zoned for that type of building and the structure will be towering two family homes in the area.

Thank you to our neighbor for spreading the word the old fashion way – on street signs. Not one politician representing this area told the people this was happening in their newsletters.

April 21, 2023Bay Ridge Park was Cleaned on Thursday – A Cleanup Event Was Planned For Saturday

Thank you Bay Ridge Rocks!
Why Did the Parks Department Clean the Park on Thursday when there is a Bay Ridge Environmental Group “Earth Day” Event on Saturday?
John Paul Jones Park is one of the cleanest parks in Bay Ridge.
The event flyer said that residents were going to clean the park:

The picture and information below was shared on Facebook on Thursday:

The Bay Ridge resident noted how meticulously the workers were working this year, as opposed to laying on the Park benches other times that they cleaned up.
Is this a political picture taking-event?
BREG said this:

Now it is a planting and painting around the gazebo event.
Bay Ridge Cares said they were using money from the NY Assembly (sadly, that’s money that Mathylde Frontus gave the group).
The Bay Ridge Environmental Group existed last Spring, but they didn’t do anything for Earth Day. (See here) It’s interesting to see them have an event during an election year.
In the past, I’ve written privately and then publicly to the Bay Ridge Environmental Group and the founder of the club. Why? Because Corlears Hook Park in Manhattan was destroyed (See here). Manhattan Park Activists tried to contact Justin Brannan and he would not return their call. They showed up at his office and they were treated terribly. (See video)
Councilman Brannan was the NYC Council member in charge of the Waterfront and Resiliency Committee. Eventually Brannan spoke to the protesters and told them that he would request an oversight hearing. Brannan never did. Corey Johnson confirmed this on a video shared by the activists. (Info)

Look at the tats they put on Brannan’s arm.
Over 700+ trees were removed from this East River Park in Manhattan. (See photos of the park now) It was strange that the Bay Ridge Environmental Club wasn’t interested in hearing about the Manhattan Park.

April 20, 2023Creep Filmed Teen in Bay Ridge – 92nd & 4th Ave

The news reported that on Tuesday evening around 7:25 pm, this man approached a teenage girl on 92nd Street between 3rd and 4th Avenues. (Info)
The police want him for taking videos up a 16-year-old’s skirt.
Loudlabs News wrote: “The individual is described as a male, dark colored hair, facial piercings and various arm tattoos. The individual was last seen wearing a multicolored hat, black t-shirt with a graphic design printed on the front, and dark colored pants.”

Call 1-800-577-TIPS if you know him. If you know him and don’t want to report, tell me who he is and I will report him. You can also report this at: Crime Stoppers website at https://crimestoppers.nypdonline.org/, on Twitter @NYPDTips.
THIS HAPPENED TWO DAYS AGO!! No one told the community until the news reported it over 36 hours later.
Why didn’t any politician or the NYPD give a heads up to every parent of a preteen or teenage girl? They sit on social media and post nonsense every day!
Here’s what Councilman Brannan is sharing on Twitter:

We need new leaders!

April 20, 2023When Technology is Added to Your Community, But No One Tells the Community

Ahmed photographed this device attached to the light on 7th Avenue and 79th Street.
Before items are added to the streets in our community, we should hear from elected leaders. They know and don’t think they need to tell you. Nothing should being installed without people being informed about the location and purpose.
Elect new leaders who want to communicate with the community.
