Here’s Why Andrew Gounardes Isn’t Fighting for Bay Ridge…

StreetsPac is having a party for Andrew Gounardes. (From here)
Gounardes is not up for election until 2025.
The tickets for this event are $250 to $1000.
There are no tickets to this event for $50 or $100 so only wealthy people are going.
That’s why people in Bay Ridge don’t have representation.
Who is Streets Pac? It’s a political action committee – they aren’t even a political action committee in Brooklyn.
Streets PAC lists their address as: 17 Battery Place, Suite 204 New York, NY 10004
Which is also the same address as:

Interesting, the guy is bragging that he put up this sign at Prospect Park West. (See here) The head of the DOT made him take it down. Do you think he got a ticket? Nope.

March 21, 2023Homeless Get No Help on the R Train in Brooklyn

Today’s pictures from the R train at 95th Street were shared with me because Brooklynites want these NY’ers to get help. Each morning they have gone unnoticed for years.
We are told there are city agencies helping these people. Ridgites see people from NYC, but no one is engaged in speaking to the people who need help.

Above the man was on the floor near his wagon. No one went over to talk to him or even ask if he was alright.

Why aren’t these people aren’t receiving help?

The people with orange vests are engaged in conversation and hanging out with each other. Why is the R train an observation train, rather than one where people could get some help?

Gounardes told us last Summer that these people would receive help, but they haven’t. Councilman Brannan should have taken action for them.

Just before 1:00 pm today, there was a serious car accident 18th Avenue and 64th Street outside of Target.

Two people died and five people were hurt. (News here and here)
People spoke to the news about a speeding white car that ran the light. The white car hit the black car. A third car had minor damage. The white car is seen on the sidewalk. (Videos here) Both the white and black vehicles are badly damaged. (Pictured here)
Watch the speed the white car is traveling at:

March 20, 2023Tree Giveaways in Brooklyn – Free Trees

Years ago, NYC had a lot of tree giveaways. Now we don’t see the city replacing trees as often.

This year, Bloomberg has funded these free tree giveaways. Right now the first tree giveaway is already full, but there are plenty other giveaways to sign up for. See here.

March 19, 2023Leona – A Family’s Dog Was Euthanized by ACC – This Could Happen to Anyone’s Dog!

On March 12th at 9:00 am, a senior dog slipped of a family’s home in Briarwood, Queens. She wasn’t wearing a collar because she had a bath the day before.

When the owners saw their dog was missing, they posted a picture of their dog on the RING app. Someone checked Animal Care and Control’s website and saw the post below at the Brooklyn ACC location. The dog was found one block from the family’s home.
The owners called Brooklyn Animal Care and Control. ACC called the owers and said they had their dog.
When the owners got to Brooklyn Animal Care and Control, they were told that a veterinarian euthanized Leona because the vet determined the dog was suffering. (Source)

I don’t think most vets would euthanize a dog without their owner present. Not allowing an owner the time to get to ACC was cruel.
*This could happen to anyone whose older dog gets out and is taken to Animal Care and Control.
On ACC’s website it says they will give 72 hours for an owner to claim their dog, but Leona wasn’t even given a day.
Leona’s owners were given her body in a box and a sympathy card!

In 2019, NYC entered into a mega-contract that lasts for 34 years was given to Animal Control and Care. (See here) Justin Brannan was in charge of NYC Council’s Contracts at the time. (See here and here)
Back then, Brannan told the activists he would look into the contract, but never mentioned ACC again. (See here )
