I Love Pentecost Sunday

Pentecost Sunday is an underrated day in the Catholic Churches in New York.

I’ve celebrated Pentecost Sunday in other states and it is a BIG DAY for the Church – as it should be!

While I am not the best Christian, I am certain that the Holy Spirit exists.

If you ever have dark day, where a miracle is needed, call on the Holy Spirit.

Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” When he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” (John 20)

Many people give these as gifts to business owners (or to people who loved the business). The model of Heart to Heart on 3rd Avenue looks beautiful!

Jack captured the Vegas Dinner perfectly! What a beautiful piece and a great reminder of the many memories that people have at that dinner!

Lioni’s sandwich shop looks fantastic!

Lenny’s Pizzeria recently closed and Jack brought Josephine this model. (See video)

Dyker Heights Meet the NYC Candidates 6/1

Due to redistricting, some people in Dyker Heights will be voting for one of these candidates in District 43.

On June 1st, NYC APA Voice is having an event at Park Asia on 8th Avenue so the community can meet the candidates for District 43.

Don’t vote for Wai Yee Chan – Wai Yee is the machine candidate. She lives in Queens and she worked for Justin Brannan. Wai Yee never spoke out against Brannan, even after she left the job.

Gounardes is Pushing for 421-a. This Was Done Away With For a Reason!

Senator Andrew Gounardes linked to an article because he wants 421-a. YIKES! (This is the article)

In 2022, Albany legislatures did not want 421-a so they let it expire.

Andrew Gounardes was asked in 2022 if he supported 421-a. He responded that he supported ending the widespread abuse. (See here)

Senator Gounardes has done nothing change the legislation to make 431-a “meaningful.” It’s still the same old 421-a that spurs corruption!

Gounardes district was changed drastically (one paper reported that it was by 80%) and there is some interesting things happening in this district.

Just in case you aren’t aware, 421-a gives developers a property tax abatement for a number of years (10+) That is a gift to developers!

Gounardes hasn’t done anything about fair property taxes, but he wants developers to not pay – we need a new leader. Someone who doesn’t think that developers need to keep getting freebies from the government!

The woman who wrote the article that Gounardes linked to is the director of Fifth Avenue Committee. *This is important.
